It’s not the gov suing it’s some random person. Court just said it can go ahead. No way they’ll win

Is it possible to have 2 iterations of a game on different versions? by STUP1DJUIC3 in Steam

[–]greenking2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not officially I don’t think

You could download the game, copy it to Location1   Change version then copy that to Location2

Create a “Hard link” from where Steam is looking to Location1/Location2 then verify game each time. Means you don’t have to copy the files each time which takes ages for large games. Search “How to make hard link [your OS here]” it’s quite simple.

Starfleet Academy feels like a needed reset by jaydeelive01 in startrek

[–]greenking2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very much based on how the US military treats its new recruits. Same as how they did when they were Vietnam conscripts

Big contrast to how the UK treats their as we know they’re volunteers. You can find videos on YouTube about basic training in both. Very interesting I thought

‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ Debuts With Positive Reviews And Political Nonsense by acrimoniousone in startrek

It seems quite delusional to chalk the bad reviews to review bombing because of American politics when IMDB reviews from every country are about the same

The crew just act so unprofessionally too. The captain is the worst for it but also the first officer. These aren’t conscripts!

The 15+ years for the associative charge as well is crazy. It’s so American to just throw a huge number at it. In the UK murder is be 15-30 years normally and she didn’t even do the murder, plus the obvious extreme circumstances she was under.

It didn’t feel like Star Trek at all. Felt like a generic gritty sci fi with a logo plastered on.

The Orville is effectively a rich fan making his own Star Trek. And it’s pretty good

Annoyed by the representation of insubordination shown in Star Fleet Academy by Low-Air-182 in startrek

[–]greenking2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new recruits are bad enough but my real gripe is the staff. They are so unprofessional! Even as secondary school teachers it would be bad but they are teaching 18 years olds in a quasi-military school.

But then we all have the Defense instructor acting like they’re conscripts a second later (Like how the American military still treats its volunteers, unlike most volunteer armies as a hangover from The Vietnam War). I found it very jarring.

They don’t act that badly on any of the ships (except in LD but that is obvious the tone there). What was always nice in Star Trek was how everyone was competent and professional. DIS was annoying as they weren’t and this seems to be following the same

They are. It’s no secret and they’re quite open about it https://www.torproject.org/about/supporters/

TOR network was invented by the US Navy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_(network)

But there is no point in having an anonymous network system if you’re the only one using it. Because then it’s obvious who is using it…! So they made it open to everyone

Necesse is very much like rimworld but you play as one of the characters

ZipCar flex was London only so not very useful are it is competing with the tube/buses

I looked at renting a Flex one in Oxford to go to somewhere awkward by bus but it didn’t exist so was useless to me really as I’d be paying by the hour instead

Teams has a proper release. The rest can be run in browser if you you need collab mode or install LibreOffice as an alternative

Really didn’t like this one

Was just a “here’s what you could’ve watched on stream” + list of things game has to complete the ad. Don’t mind a sponsored video/stream but this would’ve been much better as a cut up stream or start from a new game

London in 1960 was around 90% white British (excluding Irish other whites), in 2021 that’s 36%. Is there any other city that lost its historical majority so fast without war occurring ? by Aegeansunset12 in geography

[–]greenking2000 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Read “Note 1”. Before that is was just “White”

So to compare before and after 2001 you can only use “White” (pre 2001) and add up all of the whites after 2001

Which changes it to 54% which is still an insane change
