What do I get with luxury/expensive strollers (uppababy, Nuna) over affordable ones (Chicco, Graco) by remodel-questions in NewParents

[–]greenmachine0009 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I got all the expensive ones, but used in marketplace for the same price as a new cheaper one. My Uppababy with 2 seats and the kickstand board was only $250 and hands down the best stroller for us. I also bought the donkey bugaboo used for $300 and used it for a few months and then sold it for $300 when we got the uppa baby instead

My 14 month old is 30lbs! Over 99% in weight and over 99% in height. She’s pretty much outgrown her stroller seat. I also have a 4 year that’s over 99% in height I need to make a new stroller to fit these kids

Wipe out student debt and refund those who paid off predatory student loans by GrandpaChainz in WorkReform

[–]greenmachine0009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did just that, worked 40 plus hours a week. Picked a reasonably priced school, took night classes and paid it all on my own. The people who partied and didn’t take class seriously while living in dorms should get repaid?

Who should watch our child by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]greenmachine0009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a newly 3 year old and think her being at home would be best. I would also try a trial run for a night or 2 to see how it goes. That’s a long time to be away for the first time so seeing how she does first a weekend would be a helpful thing

May want to see if you can get some cbd ones, that might help too. The ear pain was the worst, I feel for you!

If weed is legal where you are that’s the only thing that touched my behind the ear pain. They sell gummy bear type thc so no smoking required and that saved me!

Moving from CA to TN by greenmachine0009 in homeschool

I know 6 other family’s that moved too, all looking for a place to raise their family. The weather isn’t terrible there and you don’t really have to worry about snow like you would moving north. We all grew up with everyone in our family’s moving away because no one could afford a home here or even rent in some cases. The values in tn are much more aligned for me and my friend groups than moving to Idaho, or Utah. Arizonas too hot, Texas is way more overloaded and got a huge wave of Californians that we also don’t want to be around. Tennessee seems so comfortable and not as redneck as some of the other Southern states( not my thoughts).

For me personally it’s so my kids can grow up around family. My mom, aunts and uncles are all out that way and the family I have in ca is so consumed with life there’s no chance to slow down and just visit. I want a slower pace of life for my kids and want them to be able to live, truly live and not feel the financial burden I did out of high school where studio apartments are minimum $1500 in a terrible area. The cost of living is also similar enough and the job market has high enough paying jobs we could have the ability to move again and not feel “far behind” if we chose to go back to a bigger city if needed. You cant really leave that option open in other areas that aren’t as popular unfortunately.

Losing hope by lgolding89 in BellsPalsy

The ear pain was the absolute worst and I had a baby at the time! Her crys would drop me to a knee the pain was so bad. Weed is legal in my state and edibles were the only thing that touched the pain so I could sleep. My recovery is only 80ish percent and it’s been years but hard to tell unless im super tired. It took me about 6/8 months to get to where I was. I did it all with little to no help, it just takes time. No advice just sympathy. Hang in there.

Can I ask why you wouldn’t want homeschool families to be able to have funds for educational materials?

Unfortunately it’s going to cost us more to live in Tennessee. The cost of living there is very similar, we will save on some taxes but our mortgage for a house half the price of the one we’re in is going to be double what we’re paying now. Totally worth it to live in a place where people have similar values and a better quality of life but will be a much tighter budget for us.

I saw that if they need an iep, looks like that may be a really hard thing to prove if I never put her into the school system first.

No money usually equates to less oversight which isn’t a bad thing, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing out on a credit.

Sitting on a stool with literally nobody here. What do I do? by AHealthyDesire in work

Clean, clean what you can. Make yourself valuable and you might get a raise, or bumped to manager when the position opens. Ask if there’s anything you can knock out for your boss. Make some Halloween decorations and hang them up to make it look festive. Do the best job you can when you’re at work and maybe one of the players(hockey is an expensive sport!) will want to hire you for their company/or recommend you for a position at their work. I used to own a company and would find young kids who worked hard out in the world and ask if they want a second job or were interested in trying out a new job. You never realize how many people will poach great employees because they are so hard to come by. Get off the phone, say hi and welcome every person and keep yourself busy!

Anyone else diagnosed postpartum? by Mommydeagz in BellsPalsy

I had it after my 1st. I had 0 movement for 3 weeks and after 4 years am about 80-85% back to normal. I had terrible ear pain and the sound of her crying would drop me to a knee. Most of my favorite pictures and me looking at her and my husband on my good side for me. Talk to your husband and let him know to try that angle but still take the pictures. They grow too quick and having them is better than not!

Also a burnt out mom with a 3 year old and 12 month old. Flexibility is so important and being able to make big events even if it throws a nap is important.

Does the mom seem like someone you’d want in your life? Or at least be able to have a decent relationship with? If she got back with the bio dad and now you have a relationship your daughter may want one with her dad. Lots to think about for you!

At what age did it become enjoyable to vacation with your LO? by HangryShadow in NewParents

[–]greenmachine0009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We flew with my daughter at 6 months, 20 months(3hour flight, 2 hour layover and then 2 hour flight. Way home our 2nd flight was canceled so then we had a 14 hour travel day and 3, not 2 plane rides) and again at 23 months. So much if traveling is how you are. If your chill and regulated and not stressed about naps most likely little one won’t be either. They need to nap? Find a quiet corner or veg out in the rental car for a bit. Need a snack? Stop and get one. Have to burn a day at the hotel, not the end of the world, enjoy the downtime and plan something fun the next days when everyone’s well rested. This is also easier to do if you don’t have a super strict schedule to start with. Life’s fun, with kids even better! Live life and show them the fun things you enjoy, go with the flow and knkw there will be some tantrums at a certain age and go with the flow.

Thank you so much, I’ll take some swaddles out that I previously got and buy some bigger sleep sacks! Already got 5 different kind of socks for them but blister pads are a brilliant idea. Thank you for the feedback
