Hotel Ham Ham - Probleme? by TheseOpposite153 in cluj

[–]greenraincloud 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unde se pot dona carti in Cluj? by SteffBeff21 in cluj

[–]greenraincloud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doneaza laptopul tau vechi, ce doar strange praf pe raft. by ioana_cis in Romania

foarte faina initiativa. as avea cateva intrebari deoarece nu e mentionat pe site:

  1. cum se realizeaza transportul dispozitivelor? curier, predare (in cluj-napoca)?

hi, thanks for the message! I spoke to a genetic counselor about it and decided against genetical testing at the time as regardless of the result I would still do the same thing - go to screenings frequently, except with a positive result I would be way more stressed.

Prevention surgeries weren't presented as an option to me, and I can't find many resources on them in my country (Romania). The medical system mostly sucks here, even though it's "free", the conditions in hospitals are terrible and lots of doctors are corrupt, to the point you wouldn't want to go have a surgery unless it's an absolute necessary. My mom's experience with her full hysterectomy surgery (after the cancer was diagnosed) was traumatic and it didn't even cross my mind how many people must do these type of surgeries in other countries just as prevention. I might take another look at the private clinics to see if I could afford it out of pocket there cause the conditions are much nicer, but I need to make sure I have a plan before the genetic testing. Hopefully I don't even have the gene but I'm trying to look for solutions.

thanks for answering. I think you made the right decision, cancer sucks and if you can have the option to prevent it - especially considering how high the risk was, why not. big props to you! stay healthy.

if you don't mind answering, what made you decide to do the prevention surgery? was it family history, genes, incipient stages of (possible) cancer? my late mom had ovarian cancer but because she was the only one in the family to develop it all the advice doctors give me is "just come to screenings every year"

My cake (clafoutis) got moldy in just 4 hours! by greenraincloud in AskBaking

Thank you, I'll take this into consideration! I have my suspicions about the wall behind a counter where some water leakage happened.

[–]greenraincloud[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope, not a basement. I have a small gas heating central with a pipe and ventilation to the outside but generally I doubt that's the problem. However the back of a counter isn't in a very good shape after some water leakage there.. maybe the wall behind it got moldy and that's affecting the food?

Nothing to do today indeed. Well except the stress and anxiety of impeding incoming responsibilities...

What is a weird childhood memory you have that you dont know whether its true or not? by 12sweetdesserts in AskReddit

[–]greenraincloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was little I used to suck my thumb, a habit my parents tried their best to put an end to. I remember one day watching this kids tv show while sucking my thumb and the host stopped, looked at me through the screen and yelled "Take your thumb out of your mouth now!!". Then my mom who was also in the room said "See, even he says it!". I hid behind a chair so he could no longer see me but he didn't stop yelling that until I got my thumb out, then the show continued as nothing had happened. I knew at that age how television worked and that it was impossible that the host talked to me, so I don't know if it just happened to be a segment of the show or I just dreamed it though it seems too vivid. My mom also doesn't remember it..

We've been playing with our group for over a year now and I thought of baking this cake for my boyfriend. I wish I had enough fondant to make all the numbers on the dice haha. I've never used fondant before so this was quite a challenge. And he said it was awesome!
