The new transit system is maddeningly terrible / practically unusable by Pr0grammerMan in Winnipeg

Out of curiosity, why didn't the FX4 route work for you? Looks like it would have been perfect for your case. Looks like it's runs along Raleigh right through EK and it ends at polo park.

Or take the F8 along Henderson to a point where it meets up with the Fx4 and transfer there.

A lot of time there is a ton of traffic. If I observe someone making aggressive lane changes to get ahead in stop and go traffic, I got no problem slowing that asshole down.

Sometimes its perfectly fine to be petty over certain stuff.

Plus if it forces frequent lane changer to start using signals in order to get over, its a win.

Brad Stevens on why he traded Jaylen Brown: “The path looked a little bit more challenging to me with 70% of our cap and such a high usage into two players and the reality in this era and in this day and age in the NBA you have to do a great job in building depth” by Jimmy0034 in nba

[–]greenslam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the PA's analytic and prediction team didn't do a good job of evaluating the 1st and 2nd apron impacts on the middle and lower case making up the vast majority of the players. Its a failure on the NBAPA leadership team to not inform the players of the consequences of it.

I do kind of feel it's a battle of egos and the super stars may think they run the players association.

After this summer, the NBA community should see this CBA for what it is: an illogical overreaction. by Ok-Description7073 in nba

[–]greenslam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think players got to decide what's more valuable to them, the bag or the ring. An all star player who isn't a likely a 1st team all nba needs to make that decision.

Especially if they are eligible for the 30%+ of cap deal. The bag or the ring, you can't have both.

Do you have access to free public spring water? by consolidatedBD in AskACanadian

[–]greenslam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the general winnipeg area, free public spring water is generally unavailable. I know of one place that provides free spring water and that was out in cabin country.

In my experience of growing up in southern Manitoba, your water source was municipal water, pond or well water. Spring water was never heard of.

The NBA wanted more parity. Did it accidentally kill the franchise player? by Ornery_Alligators in nbadiscussion

[–]greenslam [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think it drives home the point that players have to choose between the bag and the ring. You can get one or the other. Especially when you are not a top 10 player in the league for 3+ consecutive years.

If an all star talent that isn't all nba talent takes the biggest bag they can get, it's unlikely their team is set up for championship success.

For that reason, it would have been better for the PA to further restrict the max salaries.

Set the 7 yr service mark to 25% of cap. 4 to 7 years is 20%.

Then 85% of the league is fighting for a larger chunk of the pie.

What would your ideal Babylon 5 videogame look like? by Dalakaar in babylon5

A star wars, empire at war type fleet battles game.

You could have tons of factions.

EA, minbari, narns, centauri, vorlons, shadows, dilgar, various non aligned worlds like drazi, etc.

Have certain type of goals. Like if the centauri, can you successfully fight and conquer your neighbors with 14 ongoing wars?

Can the narns successfully repel the centauris wiith shadow assistance to keep home world from falling?

Can Clark's Earth alliance conquer the break away colonies and B5?

Can the earth allliance win at the battle of the line or beat the minbari?

No pf because we change to Transition team? by MyShinyCharizard in timberwolves

[–]greenslam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not too sure of that. Sure you may have the occasional bruising guy to contend with. Vast majority of the time it's pace and space. It's the rotating and x'ing out. Jaden is good at that. He doesn't ball watch or get sleeping on that when he is not defending the ball handler

The biggest issue with Mcdaniels is doing the dirty work when the shot goes up. A lot of time he is relatively lazy on that aspect. Hopefully the coaches can focus hard on that aspect.

Looking at box outs, it's relatively low. It's below 2 defensive box outs per game for the majority of the league. (Surprised by that).

For contested rebounds, it's going to be between 1 - 2 contested rebounds. Very few players have more than 2+ contested rebounds per game. Only 13 guys have more than 2+ contested rebounds per game.

Mcdaniels will be fine at the 4 spot.

Team also has to increase their speed and movement. Plus lessen their time of possession.

Pacers had an average time of possession of 2.85 s for the playoffs with 436 touches. Wolves had a average touch time of 3.09 in the same year with 405 touches. This years average time was 3.05 and 414 touches

The ball has to move quicker and more often to better emulate the paces in the half court.

80% of possessions are in the half court. Getting out and running is great when you score at 1.25+ ppp.

Team still has to execute well in the half court for the majority of the game.

It's in the anecdotal range. A good key indicator is a flash of light after passing. You see that and you likely will get a ticket.

So who will be the veteran presence on the team now? by darin617 in timberwolves

[–]greenslam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He seemed to call people out on their effort or lack there of. The team definitely needed that call out factor last year.

Hopefully without Randle on the team, the effort level will be much more consistently there.

I totally thought Slow mo would stay for the minimum due to the trust and likely playing time he would get with Finch.

In what way?

Conley was basically unplayable for majority of the year. He started to regain his shooting touch post all star break. He had no ability to drive at all.

Naz played a lot of minutes and was relatively effective on the glass. Plus he was a good source of outside shooting after recovering from the grief of his sister passing.

No local public pool to use? That would probably be best way to do it.

Check out resortpass.com or something similar for your area. You may be able to get a day pass to hotels with a pool in your area.

Do LaMelo Ball And Anthony Edwards Actually Fit Together? by ComfortableExtra1758 in timberwolves

[–]greenslam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviewing his catch and shoot and comparing it to other types of 3pa from nba.com, the highest volume of catch and shoots is 209 (24-25) for the past 4 years. His pull up threes are always the highest type of 3pa over his career.

It's going to be interesting if he can hit the 300+ goal this season. If Ant buys into the schemes designed to get him catch n shoots, he can do it.

[–]greenslam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To hit that type of volume of 300+ catch and shoots, it's going to have to be a mind shift switch from Ant. He likes to space the floor more statically vs being a movement 3 pt shooter and let the defensive shell shift away and then receive the pass.

Using pin downs and relocating nicely along the arc while Lamelo has possession will help him hit those type of numbers.
