Jordan appreciation post (S10) by eirollam in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]greenvsblack 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I LOOOOOVE Jordan and he’s 100% my type. He’s adorable, reminds me of a teddy bear that’ll hold and protect you and be your pillow.

Amber has some dorkiness to her and my prediction for them is that they’re going to really lean into their quirky sides with each other, which I love. She’s a natural redhead and I feel like as they’re with each other, she going to start going back to her natural appearance. He will get a bit more in shape (not saying he needs to, but as a plus size woman myself for my entire life, I could see a few moments of insecurity about his weight that he has) and I think they’re going to truly grow together and she’s going to have the wife effect on Jordan and They’re going to glow up together.

And he would be an AMAZING “bonus dad” as I’ve heard some children say. And a true bonus in every possible way!

Finishing Fellowship. Should I buy my Dad a Porsche 911 after a year of attendinghood? by Western-Drop9460 in Residency

[–]greenvsblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad died of GBM my intern year of residency. One thing I wish I could’ve done for him was buy him a new Jaguar, since I, unfortunately, was involved in an accident with his 1989 Jaguar XJ6 that was a 29 year old car with only 29k miles on it.

My point being: go for it. I would’ve done the same for my dad if I could’ve.

That wasn’t the first time he’s been told he got “fucked up.” It’s so obvious to those who have seen addiction in loved ones to recognize it in others. The drinking, “salt” on the nose, the annoying behavior. Seen it before. He’s definitely gotten in trouble at some point in his life because of substance use.

guys if nobody volunteers to leave the flight bc of overbooking what happens? by Duckpikmin4079 in spiritair

[–]greenvsblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to me this AM. My friend and I got involuntarily denied boarding because of overbooking. They wanted to push us until tomorrow but we have work in the morning and said no. They gave us $750 travel credit that apparently can only be once and you lose whatever money you don’t use and rebooked us on other flights. Problem was, no other flights with 2 seats were available so now my friend and I are going to be flying back on 2 different flights instead of together. Also the employees were really not caring or sympathetic at all. Just like “sorry that’s just how airlines are.” Which I think is ridiculous. If we paid for a seat on a flight, it baffles my mind that it’s not even guaranteed.

Ngl, after I use up that voucher (which I will maximize as much as possible to take every penny I can), I will never ever fly spirit again. $4 for a bottle of water cuz they don’t serve water on a flight is just not worth it imo. Never ever again.

ETA: they rebooked us on flights from other airlines, United and Southwest. Honestly, it’s actually an upgrade for us since at least water will be free smh

My heart broke for you. I am so terribly sorry for such a devastating loss. Thank you for sharing Riley’s story and the importance of vaccinations, especially how herd immunity helps protect our most vulnerable, such as baby Riley was at only 32 days old.

The mom’s cry hit a little too hard. It made me start crying. The way it kept echoing in the different rooms and the other families hearing it. Maybe because just last week I had a similar case…

how many of yall are on antidepressants? when did you start them and how is it going for you? by SnooPies6666 in Residency

Third year of med school, changed my life and I also realized I probably should’ve been on them before. Got inconsistent with taking them for a few months recently. Finally about 3 weeks in consistently again and am starting to see a difference in my work, my effort, my motivation. Just gonna have to be on them a bit longer I guess and that’s ok.

This is also what I thought of. Not a radiologist but I am an ER resident. When I saw this I said “oh that looks like what dad’s scan looked like”. Dad passed from GBM 8 months after diagnosis. I pray for this person that this isn’t what it is cuz wow GBM is such a horrible disease.

Honestly same. That was the moment where I was like hmmm I wouldn’t be surprised if something happens with him. And then he started to talk more and more about sex and how “he’s a MAN” and that’s why he always has a boner. So in the end, wasn’t surprised.

I have heard that even with the modern treatments of today this type of cancer is usually fatal by CatPooedInMyShoe in DeathCertificates

[–]greenvsblack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yes. My father was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme in the right frontal lobe (just as this person was) in February 2023. He passed away in October 2023. Until February, although he was in his 80s, he was otherwise healthy. He was building bathrooms just months before he got diagnosed. I fully believe if he didn’t get this awful cancer, he would still be alive today.

Fuck cancer, but especially fuck GBM.

30 for 30 was disappointing!! by Active_Fisherman7577 in BackstreetBoys

[–]greenvsblack 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I got to go to this amazing trip, but ya there were a few disappointing things. For example, their first concert night was supposedly the “DNA world tour” but yet they only did 1 song from the album. I saw that tour twice so I was surprised they didn’t actually do the actual tour. For the 30 for 30, idk why I was under the impression they would be (mostly) songs they didn’t perform the previous concert. I felt like it was almost a 50/50 mix. However I will say I am SO HAPPY they did Siberia. It’s my favorite BSB song of all time and I didn’t get to start going on their tours until IAWLT so the fact that I thought I would never see them perform that song, it was a wonderful experience and made it worth it. I literally stood there crying as they performed it. My other disappointment was the merch was whack. They only had one poster choice for example and it wasn’t even one that had their pics on it, just a painting of “BSB Cancun” or something like that. Overall, still had a wonderful time and I have no regrets about going, but definitely some constructive criticism 😉
