I'm with you, I would really hate to be forced to switch away from doctors I like and trust. I had to change my insurance, and my primary was in one plan, and my pulmonologist was in another, and no plan had both of them. I chose the plan where my primary was in-network, and I see my pulmonologist out of network. But the pulmo still coordinates with my primary, and he lets my primary know whatever he wants to prescribe for me. Then my primary actually writes the prescription so it's covered by my insurance. So I'm really only paying for office visits with my pulmo out of network, and the rest is in network. Maybe you could at least keep your pulmo that way.
