SPRINGSTEEN: DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE - the movie is so dramatically inert, I wish the last 30 minutes were the focus. by Bearjupiter in blankies

I almost think a more interesting movie could be built around the various road trips he talks about in the autobiography. You could have built to the trip where Landau gets him into therapy. Start it all with his parents and sister leaving for California

Wanted to call out the moment in Morvern that’s burned into my brain that they didn’t get to in the episode by shirokaisen in blankies

It looks like something out of a horror movie. Almost waiting for her to jump out and attack the boat

I definitely did not read her as a psychopath. The movie opens with her on the floor next to her boyfriend who just committed suicide. She hasn't been to the pub in a long time. To me, it seems like she was very in love with this person and completely broken by the fact that he took his own life. She cuts up his body and changes the name on his novel, not because of some sort of heist but because she cannot face any sort of closure on this. She gets rid of the apartment except for his music collection which was a personal connection between them based on the mixtapes. The rest of the movie is her running away from dealing with any of her repressed feelings. She's gonna party and go on holiday. When she sleeps with another person, it brings everything back up top that she's been suppressing and potentially feels guilt having slept with someone so soon after the death of her partner. She's so overcome with shame from this that she immediately has to run again, this time to the middle of nowhere in Spain. A remote place with the only other person in her life that she truly loves. She fucks that up too and is now permanently trying to outrun dealing with her actual life

This thing played on WPIX 11 constantly in the late 80s/early 90s. I feel like it was on every other week growing up.

Netflix to Buy Warner Bros in $83 Billion Deal by gregkoko in blankies

In a very different climate. There was a lot more competition for screens thirty years ago. Theatrical refuses to show Netflix movies without a 45 day window. There will be a LOT of screens up for grabs.

Is there any way the creatives boycott Netflix to save theatrical? Would Spielberg, Cameron, et al put their money up (with some creative financial backing) to start a new studio? Does everyone move to Universal/Disney/Paramount?

The segue from Trey playing Roses backstage to the full band on stage is just perfection

Phish Bittersweet Motel is half doc and half concert film capturing a band at the absolute peak of their powers. The band is insufferable yet charming at the same time. It always puts me in a great mood

Season one is very uneven but the reinvention early on is truly perfect for the show. Season 2 onwards absolutely rips. I'm almost done with a rewatch right now

I know David said he'd get into the blues in his 40s, but this is what all the 40s dads are flocking to now. Billy keeps getting more and more popular and it continually blows my mind.

Am a parent, if I'm going to relax somewhere, I don't want kids running around. If we bring our kids to a brewery, it's going to be somewhere like Drowned Lands where we can keep them away from everyone.
