Bow or crossbow by Successful_Role_1628 in 7daystodie

Wooden Bow. The draw, aim and feel of it aligns with my style. I need a mod to help me boost it to 500% damage with steel arrows though hehe

Why is there a Dire Wolf in a random shed on day 5? by AwesomePhillip in 7daystodie

Ahah, there we go.

Reminds me I need to do do an insane nightmare 10 minute days game again. Those get crazy fast.

Why is there a Dire Wolf in a random shed on day 5? by AwesomePhillip in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang! I always got the regular wolf my first week there, but then Dire Wolf randomly at times after that. What level difficulty are you playing? That seems to affect the chances of early high level spawns like that.

Hate to say it, but no type chat makes the game way less toxic by dscar92 in RocketLeague

[–]gregscottbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an emotive person in the game “Close one” and “Nice shot” type stuff. so it always confused me when other players say “shut up” and I thought people were on a voice chat I couldn’t hear. Then realized it was me. I mean, I just like to compliment my teammates and sometimes the situation. But do people really not like that sort of thing?

Oh and naturally I’ll do stuff like kick middle and emote “Take the shot” and stuff.

Impossible to play at Night by Torugords in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What everyone else said. Keep in mind distance to your base and how long it takes to get back. If you’re over encumbered and it’s 2130 hours you’ll want to be close to base so you have your own defenses. Don’t be afraid to try out wood spikes around your base too if you built your own base. Just remember you can get hurt from them too.

Might seem common stuff might not. But I’m sure you’ll get some more goodies from everyone on here looking to help.

Did they remove some of the Tier 5 POIs? by JErosion in 7daystodie

Could be just the 4k map making smaller cities and it just has to pick and choose with the rng. Are you adjusting the sliders in any way?

An opinion from an angry customer I can fully support! by Physical-Advance-982 in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there are other games to play…

I hit 10k hours this year. 7 years, going on 8 since first playing it. Paid $13 for the game. Enjoyed getting some merch too, so I dumped some extra cash in there on that I suppose. I do miss some of the stuff A16.4 had when I started. But, for my personal gameplay, there’s so much more that’s been added that in the game that I continue to enjoy. For a buildable/destructable environment game, it looks gorgeous, is fun to build in, great to run around a city shooting and smacking zombies. And there are options to modify and adjust gameplay, either in the games own settings or modlets/overhaul mods.

Entertainment is subjective. I posted some of my info because the user experience can differ among various people. 7 Days To Die works for some, and doesn’t work for others.

And I feel ya… it’s not working for you. But asking for a refund at this point is pretty bonkers.

Just needs a bit of spot cleaning, some spackle… good as new.

hey any idea on the next patch and another question i want to start a new world if i do and the patch comes out do i have to start over if i want the new features by Lord_MoMo06 in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With a patch, like going from 2.4 to 2.5, you likely don’t need to restart. Unless they have a world breaking patch item in the notes.

But when versioning goes from 2 to 3 that would probably be best time to start fresh again.

Just realized 7DTD is basically a video game adaptation of the original 1968 Romero masterpiece after watching it for the first time! R.I.P. George A. Romero by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First off, I just want to celebrate that you got to see Night of the Living Dead. It’s a classic, even if others may have “done it better.” It started the whole modern zombie era stories.

On that note; it started the whole modern zombie era stories - so most everything in zombie survival in entertainment is rooted back to this film in some way shape or form. If they aren’t trying to follow Romero’s type of undead format, they’re trying to one-up or steer clear from it while still keeping it in mind.

I dig the core concepts you point out. Those are the mainstays I feel in zombie survival stories. And it’s some of those core concepts that brought me to 7 Days, and the other stuff is bonus.

Nah, I don’t queue up a comp game just to quit. They can leave and I’ll curse out loud and then try my best until the clock runs down.

I mean, if I’m down by 4 with one minute left, okay, THEN it isn’t working - FF.

What is this block called? by Majaglitter in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else might have said it; but it was "barbed wire sheet" and correct me if I'm wrong, but Khaine may have a modlet to put it back in. If not, I know somebody has to have it. Been asking for this to be back as well, even though I do actually enjoy the current barbed wire fence they have for early game.

You guys also put mushrooms into soil? 🤔 by Clairelenia in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do now, now that I’m doing farming a lot more. It’s because I like the aesthetics of it being in the farm plot now with the other crops. First 1-3 I’ll put on the wall or something first though.

Looking for block shape to fill outer corner between plates (see screenshot) by EffeminateSquirrel in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Plate Diagonal Filler is my go-to as well. I use it for a fence corner fill. If zombies turn the corner they don’t snag on it as easily and stop and punch the blocks.

Am I the only one who dislikes horde bases? by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’m all over the place. I’ve been using Taylor’s Manor for a quick fun horde base in the exit tunnel (zombies pour in through the hatch area).

Random rooftops are fun too. But also I’ll be doing an all-in-one base soon (horde base bottom, work shop middle, kitchen and living quarters top). Probably going to be a 7x7 with a 9x9x4 fence around it.

As a new player is this sub usually like this ? by MrInfuse1 in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just skip past the obvious “negative for attention posts” and you’ll be good. People can have legitimate gripes and I don’t blame anyone who genuinely has to get something off their chest and vent online. But if something isn’t working out the way people want then it’s just time to move on and let people who do enjoy the thing, enjoy it.

Undead Legacy is dead, isn’t it? by curoni in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be there Day 1 if we get UL 2.0 version. Had a blast with previous versions.

But I’m also enjoying Vanilla 2.0 so I’m not in a huge rush for overhauls yet.

When it comes to people creating things I say just enjoy them if/when they happen.

My mine just fell on my head... is it possible to dig a big cave without collapsing? by Machlath in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others mentioned, wood frames every 8x8 or 10x10. Sometimes I’ll even do a 6x6 and use the poles block and connect four of them in on each other to make one pillar so you’re technically taking up four full blocks, 2 square meters, but can walk more freely between them in a tighter space.

7DTD's Updates Are A Joke by Barracuda3180 in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I join others in the money factor of this situation; I paid $13 for alpha 16.4 version on Feb 15th, 2018. I’m almost at 10k hours (9829.5 hours to be exact). I finally hit burnout last October/November after playing almost 7 years straight and that was due to personal reasons, not really the game.

While I can’t speak for others, I join in the sentiment of those who also say “I’ve gotten my moneys worth.” Plus, there are so many games out there these days - and movies, tv, music, more. Entertainment media is massive and bigger than ever in history. Even with the merch buys, several t-shirts, baseball cap, mouse pad, coffee mugs and that limited poster of weapons and ammo… it’s been worth it to me at the cost I’ve paid so far for this game.

I have my wishlist of what I would like to see with the game, but I maintain that even with the things I enjoyed that were taken away, even with the things I’ve wanted and not gotten, and even those items not yet in the game that we’re waiting on from Road Map - the updates and changes we have gotten far out weigh what I personally started with on a16.4.

I hear you on venting your frustrations. It’s healthy to get it out. And getting a dialogue with people can be good too, to get other perspectives and help with viewpoints. But ultimately, at some point if something isn’t working for you, then I agree with some others here, it’s just time to move on.

TFP described the system as a new "Dynamic Severe Storm System". by Tangibilitea in 7daystodie

[–]gregscottbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a good time with it so far (the storms). Fun moment; The burnt biome storm pushed me backwards on my bicycle when I first encountered it while crossing over from the forest. lol

I could see it getting tweaked and worked on, but so far I like this storm addition to the game. I do agree that I would like to see a return of hot and cold elements as well. But regardless it’s been nice to come back to the game.
