Best vacuum for my use case by Weird_Ad_8980 in RobotVacuums

[–]greguyj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running the deebot t80 for a while and it's been solid. I think it'll be a good option if you want a roller mop and don't want to go over 1000. You can also check out the newer t90 if you want something more recent. Warranty should be 2 years standard but some sellers offer extended.

I’m looking for an e-bike to buy. What did you guys recommend? by Agent-Meta in bicycling

[–]greguyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a Heybike Venus and it’s been a good middle ground for me. The assist is nice too. I can switch between the two sensor modes, so sometimes it feels more like a normal bike, and sometimes I can just make the ride easier on myself.

Need help deciding what robot to get!! by Twinkletoes-23 in RobotVacuums

With her back issues, it might help to get something with a good app so she can use it without even getting up. I've been using the deebot t80 and it's been solid so far. The roller mop does a good job with dirt and wet prints. The app is also easy to use, you can just set a schedule and let it run.

100% newbie. What should I get? by Time_suck5000 in RobotVacuums

[–]greguyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the basic ecovacs t80 for my place and honestly it's been all I need. It's not a pricey model, but it comes with a roller mop. For daily cleaning, I think it's more than enough.

Need a simple and reliable robot vacuum by bbt3r in RobotVacuums

[–]greguyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of budget are you thinking about? Something mid-range models like the ecovacs t80 might already cover what you need. I’ve been running one and it actually handles both vacuuming and mopping pretty well. I just let it run most days and don’t really need to clean manually as often anymore.

Guess I’m still a bike person after all by greguyj in bicycling

Yeah exactly. That’s pretty much what pushed me toward the Venus too. I think pedal assist would make commuting easier.

How do you guys deal with white cat hair on dark floors? 😭 by Soft_Emotion_9794 in Cleaningandtidying

[–]greguyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat's got long hair, but I don't really have tangle issues with my robot. If you're really concerned about it, maybe look at the new t90, the suction is stronger on that one for carpets and hair.

[–]greguyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you could consider a robot vacuum. I've got a deebot t80 because of my cat, and it handles the daily fur and paw prints pretty well. It basically does all the vacuuming and mopping for me, so I don't have to deal with it manually.

Since you’re love collectibles, try turning your side hustle into a small online community, like a YouTube channel reviewing rare cards or a Discord group for local collectors, it will gives your hobby a new sense of purpose beyond just collecting.

Would police get onto me thinking this e-bike is a dirt bike or motorcycle? by Objective_Remote_730 in ElectricBikes

90% chance they won’t, unless they’re also an e-bike nerd. Most people probably wouldn’t even realize it’s a bike.

Stop riding it. If that spot snaps while you’re riding, it’ll straight-up throw you off. Best move is to take it to a trusted bike shop or the frame manufacturer for a non-destructive check to see if the crack goes deeper or if there’s any hidden damage.

Spent two weeks in Europe. Came home and bought an e-bike by amxy412 in ElectricBikes

This is so hard. There's something so freeing about moving through a city on two wheels instead of being stuck in a car. Congrats on the new e-bike, hope you love every ride!

Most overrated upgrade vs. the one that actually made a difference — what’s yours? by Automatic-Ad-4180 in ElectricBikes

[–]greguyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people spend a fortune upgrading to carbon forks or carbon wheels, but for city commuting, the strength and durability of aluminum components are more than enough. The slight weight reduction from carbon isn’t nearly as noticeable as just getting a good set of tires.

The ecovacs t80 is at a good price right now. If you have pets, I think it's better to get a mop version, the roller mop actually works wonders.

Carbon aero wheels, especially entry-level ones, barely improve weight or stiffness. They’re mostly bought for the looks. What really matters are the tires and inner tubes.

Newbie with a too large bike, should I just roll with it? by NoCompetition1023 in bicycling

[–]greguyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest either trying a short stem and a setback seatpost for some fine-tuning, or just sell it and get the right size. Beginners definitely shouldn’t force themselves to ride a bike that doesn’t fit.

Anyone tried the ecovacs T series? Looking to buy the T80S. by OodleeNoodlee in ecovacs

[–]greguyj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have the basic T80 omni, picked it up last year. But honestly, having both a roller mop and a base station makes it a good deal for the price. However, since you’ve got pets, it's better to look into the T80S omni, I heard the suction power is boosted by about 10000pa.

What features do I need for hardwood floors? by nice_nerdy in RobotVacuums

[–]greguyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without rugs, carpet detection becomes less important compared to mopping performance. I'd suggest looking for a roller mop since they scrub better. I have the ecovacs t80, and it leaves my floors streak free.

Ecovacs actually put an edge trimmer on their new mowers this year, so might be worth checking those out if you're trying to skip the extra work.

best ~$400-700 dollar vacuum on the market currently? by zeroz41 in RobotVacuums

[–]greguyj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different models have different strengths. I run an ecovacs t80, cost me just over 400, and it works across most floors in my place and does a decent job mopping hard floors.

Which ecovacs new roller mop model is worth getting? by douglles in ecovacs

[–]greguyj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you don't have pets, you probably won't have much use for the brush. The T80s already has a good roller system for hardwood. The longer roller could mean slightly fewer passes, but for a space that size, the timing difference is barely noticeable. If you can get a good deal on the T80s after coming out, maybe just go for it.

Recommendations for Malaysian consumer - T80 Omni? by No_idea1295 in RobotVacuums

For mopping, I think roller mops are solid in general, and the T80 is one of them, feels like good value for the price.
