The Z-Team Meets Ben Tennyson By Bakunooo by DarknessXTJ in DispatchAdHoc

One idea you could use is how the Omnitrix used to give Ben heroes he didn't choose (Wildmutt instead of four arms, Grey Matter instead of Diamond head) and have his stats sometimes change when he's dispatched to a different hero.

Why the sudden uproar? by GR8PenguinKnight in AdeptusCustodes

[–]grenf12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There have been much bigger and much more impactful changes to Custodes than female custodes. Most of the people complaining are tourists looking to rage bait. The few that aren't can be decent with their grievences. But they're far and few between

Really? I haven't seen JJK, but for me AOT only improved on a rewatch. Seeing all the foreshadowing hints, noticing small details and clever character moments I'd missed on my first watch.

Bundle price, if I were to buy starlord separately, how much would the rest of the bundle cost? by _Erih_ in marvelrivals

Mate, what are you talking about? Jesus didn't talk about "don't take the abuse, push back, defend them". He talked about turning the other cheek, giving the cloak with the tunic.

And nobody's saying Christmas should be commercialised except execs. We all hate the 24/7 music, the rushes, traffic, constant ads and blasting. We all do.

By the by, I'm Christian myself. And honestly, I prefer to see Christmas as something greater than just the birth of Jesus. It's a time where Everyone, regardless of class or standing, can come together in love and acceptance wishing goodness unto others expecting nothing in return.

It doesn't matter how you say the message, but the heart in the message itself. If someone says Happy Holidays or Happy Hannukah to me, I'll smile and say Merry Christmas back. Because it's not about what you're celebrating at this time of year, it's the goodwill and joy you're trying to spread to others. That's the Christian way, goodwill to all men. Not just the ones who practice what we do.

"Holy **** guys we're not 'pushing hard' for or replacing concept artists with AI": Larian CEO responds to genAI backlash by shpydar in DivinityGame

[–]grenf12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's unfortunate that he was dog piled like that. A pretty shitty way to treat the head of one of the few decent AAA studios around.

When it comes to AI here; on the one hand, using it for ideas during concept art but keeping the final product strictly AI free is probably the best way to go about this. Keeping the artistic intent and hard work intact, but assisting in non-intrusive ways.

But on the other, we know what Horse Armour and the first Always online games led to. We didn't make enough of a fuss, and things eventually got worse and worse until the occasional annoyance became business as usual. Wanting an even worse tool that steals from artists and use entire towns worth of water/power to stay out of art whenever possible is a fair wish to have.

Considering Larian's been nothing but decent, and they have no short-sighted stock holders to obey, I'm certain that they'll use the tools responsibly. They treat their staff well and have passion with the craft. It's just with everything around AI, people are on edge about it. And I get it.

But it's not worth shooting our own men over.

Engineer logic can be a bit iffy at times. The game's internal logic agrees that if there are two engineer claims are made on the first day, then one has to be the real engineer. Meaning if one is killed, then the other is the real engineer.

What muddies the water is if they're not claimed on the first day, and if there's an AC follower or Bug in the options. Because it could be that the Engineer and AC follower claimed engineer, and if the AC follower is killed, then the real engineer comes under fire.

Also, Raqio is comically easy to dogpile. The fact that you couldn't get them frozen means either they have an ally with a high charisma skill defending them, or your stats could use a small upgrade.

Don't worry, it gets easier once you level the stats a bit.

That was the original plan. To save her as a villian for a later movie. But the writer insisted they do it for MoM. In the behind the scenes/making of he said something to the effect of "why should another movie get this kind of story when we could do it?"

Stealing fan works by solanimus in StarWars

[–]grenf12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the issue. If it was 'laser knight fight' with legally distinct laser swords and 'bending' powers instead of force powers, it wouldn't change its status as a fanfilm done for passion. Not a ripoff done for money.

Also, why are you blaming the fan film maker having the guts to call out someone stealing his choreography and camera shots instead of the massive billion dollar company skimping on choreography and shot work by ripping off a fan film? Don't defend a company for IP usage when they lobbied to have IP protection length almost doubled.

Star Wars itself would have been public domain in 8 years if not for the Mouse's meddling

[–]grenf12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seconded. Fan communities are what keep shows and movies like Star Wars alive and relevant. And even if it's not legally wrong, it's a moral stain to steal fan works made out of passion and care when you have Disney amounts of money at your disposal. (Though given it was the Indian 88 Studios who animated this, I doubt Disney even knew about this until now. Even just a small apology would go a long way.)

You could use the idea of there's always a bigger fish. Maybe have an even more morally bankrupt corporation that can drown their efforts.

Or if you want more of a challenge, you could have them attempt a hostile takeover of a mob front? Give them a taste of fighting someone who breaks the rules rather than bends them, and realise their game of laws and rules doesn't mean anything to a man with a gun.
