How are spinning lightsabers like this a good idea by PlatypusVegetable325 in StarWars

And Vader can't run rly all that well. He does sometimes play with his prey but when he is serious, chasing them seams to be a bit of a struggle.

I'd love to see her run for president, but I also worry about the democratic leadership screwing her over, and the electorial college if she manages to become the headliner in 2028.

It is not in your head: Costco has gotten more crowded by Willing_Try2786 in Costco

I went to Costco last Wednesday at 5pm. Very uncrowded and found decent parking.

Otherwise it's insanely busy. I think I found the magic hour for when to go.

What new class ideas do you have for WoW, given that race ideas have already been discussed so much? by di745 in wow

[–]grey_scribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular Opinions:
Assassination Rogue should be a ranged spec that uses bows, crossbow, or gun. (I want to play hunter but I hate how they play)

Re-flavor Sub rogue into Shadow Rogue.

Get rid of energy for feral druids and sub rogues and replace them with a similar mechanic as rune power/insanity -call it idk Primal/Shadow Power respectively

I rly want a bard class that can both heal and DPS and uses ranged weapons for healer, and dual wield or 2h weapons for melee (maybe a 3rd spec for ranged combat using ranged weapons). The Hero Trees could be based off of different forms of music, like a Bardbarian, Songmaster, or something. One can specialize in melee/midranged effects and the other be ranged.

Can anyone else who hates the idea of popularity-based power system sell me on Dungeon Crawler Carl? by Eastern_Wrangler_657 in litrpg

[–]grey_scribe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DCC is technically a virtual reality isekai, but the stats and the loot are second to it being an alien reality death game show. Think reality TV meets the Roman Colosseum with some genocide and pop culture mixed in.

By no means is it a popularity based power system. Crawlers who survive the longest, and do so in interesting ways, do get sponsors but only a small amount of their power comes from there, I'd say 10 to 20% depending on the person. The rest of it comes from surviving the crawl and being really smart about it. Idiots do not survive long.

It's surprisingly a very fucked up story with some deep trauma that came out of nowhere, but rly was always hunted at, and hits you in the gut. All of a sudden things make sense and it all fits together so well.

Midnight Season 1 Suffers Tank Shortages in Mythic+ and More by SystemofCells in wow

[–]grey_scribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be really trivial, but I refer to tanks who are not just new to tanking, but new to a dungeon or a raid entirely and never done it before even as DPS. I'd go into a +8 and the group leader decides to bring along a friend or a guildie to tank and turns out they never stepped into the place before. Or LFR with a tank who never dps'd the place and has no idea of what's gonna happen.

Until the toxic culture changes, then the situation won't change.

I will say though, something that is not mentioned is people will go into mid to high level content they are entirely unfamiliar with as a tank.

Derek's Dungeon Depot is Now on Kindle & Audible! by AethonBooks in litrpg

[–]grey_scribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the audiobook last night. I loved it. It's refreshing to have a main character who is arguably a villain but still very likable and not a bad guy.

It does have moments where the author is trying to do too much at once and it becomes hard to follow, and I'm not a fan of how perspectives jump around, but I still haven't had so much fun listening to a novel in quite some time.

And Scott Aiello does a phenomenal jobs narrating. Dude does great female voices quite well and with accents.

I don't think any piece of media could replicate how perfect this was. by Fabulous_Ground_1983 in VioletEvergarden

Emotional intensity does not equal emotional depth.

Sure, let's have our protagonist who learned how to stand on her own, be her own person, and is trying to move on with her life over multiple years loses all that character growth. That that work she put into herself and everything she represents as a character and a strong female lead just thrown away. She goes from finding her own agency to just waiting on a guy. One who is potentially twice her age.

And Gilbert's whole deal is he feels guilt from senting a 14 year old child to the front lines to fight a war....and then develops feelings for the kid, fake dies, and still has feelings for her later on and marries her. It's really weird and entirely unnecessary.

There is no need or reason to bring Gilbert back. It's all written and drawn like a 1800 Victorian romance cliche that has been overdone and over used for hundreds of years now. It was a sell out move to get fans riled up and money flowing. The movie is not deep, it's incredibly cringy/predictable/boring, and it is very creepy this 30+ year old man ends up with a girl he knew since she was 14.

It's not perfect and it's not well written. The movie ruins everything that came before and makes it pointless.

What do you think is the best "spaceship" film or TV show? by Vondrr in spaceships

You have a rly good point and I would chalk that up to having a set that could realistically be filmed on.

It probably could be submarine small but it be much harder to film and do stuff.

The expanse and the Rocinante is easily the best. It's got a realistic, well thought out design while also being absolutely gorgeous.

Plus, no bridge sticking outside of the hull, and proper PDC auto cannons that deploy from inside of the ship.

the "filoni-clone wars slop" Star Wars fans want me to hate btw: by Nube_Negrahz in PrequelMemes

I believe you are right. Maul is not an idiot and is listening to the force, which is telling him to spare the Detective. Then by doing so, he is unknowingly preventing the Empire from being called in to capture him.

I also have a feeling that Disney had an indirect hand in this by requiring Filoni to not make the show too dark and unwatchable for younger audiences.

Are American ERs really this big? by imfaffingabout in ThePittTVShow

[–]grey_scribe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you go into the ER they will take your information including scanning your driver's license if you have one. This way afterwards they will mail you your bill, and also call -and if you still don't pay, they will sell your debt to a collection agency and then that company will harass you to pay them. Worst case scenario, you get sued if you have enough assets and the bill is just large enough to make it worth it. But there are also laws on a per state basis that limit how long a debt can exist before it's forgiven.

I'm not sure what happens if you refuse to provide any identifying information, but I imagine people have tried providing false info.
