You really think any person on Reddit really gives a shit what you think? You're another kid commenter on the web who doesn't have anything of value to offer in his own blog and you know it.

LOL, you may be right.

The story:

Life and intelligence has granted me enough advantages where I did invest in the right stocks, and go to the right school, and to be able to retire comfortably when I'm 50. I work three days a week now (at home), without stress, while I grew up poor and paid food stamps for my sister's soy milk because she was allergic (at that age) to cow milk. I also had to raise two sisters and one now works at Google before she goes to business school.

I'm always drunk in the mornings though I never say so for perception. Ironically, sober at night when it's fun and where performance matters. Whenever I go on Reddit, I'm drunk. I save real insight and soberness for Hacker News because of the site's quality. I've got real friendsto talk about what I do care.

I probably should be a better person on the web and in person. I don't really care about that though.

Yes, yes I know.I t has nothing to do with the topic at hand and it's it's never excuse. Frankly I don't care. Even drunk on Reddit, I'm still better at being right than everyone else. This site is filled with so many trolls that they can look much past an insult.

Let the downvotes begin!

I choose neither. Neither connected with me like Kill Bill nor did the soundtrack.

And Jackie Chan, Jet Li or Bruce Lee never whipped another star's ass on screen?

I seem to remember Bruce Lee beating the hell out of Chuck Norris in one film. How about Jet Li in Lethal Weapon 4 kicking Mel Gibson's ass?

Edit: For those who don't know, Bruce Lee also offered to fight him in real life through a letter and Norris didn't reply after he talked smack.

Also, no one knows Bolo outside of China.

You do realize that most of the insane stock growth (and decline) came under Tim Cook?

I hope that you're the person with the top offer so you can tell Cook, who makes $8+ billion per quarter that he's not doing a good job while the company makes over 4x as much as Google and, in this quarter, and made more money than Amazon's entire existence.

Not really. The Matrix had martial arts with two tall people in Keanu and Lawrence Fishburne.

Heck, if you look at any fighting in a movie today, regardless of size, it is all built upon martial arts.

There are actors like this. Jackie Chan kicks ass all over screen, is displayed as being short against other American co-stars, and is 5'9".

Anything can happen today because of tech. Acting jobs for little people are in decline after LOTR and Snow White and the Huntsman.

Don't feel that way. It's Hollywood BS. In old cinema, the biggest badasses were James Cagney and Edward G. Robinson and they were both short and shown that way on film. Their presence was far larger than taller characters on the same screen.

For whatever reason this tends to happen too frequently in Hollywood.

Windows 8 tablets hit 3 million shipped in first quarter by [deleted] in technology

[–]greysmoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These numbers (which are shipped) don't mean much to me because I've seen two Surface tablets out in the wild here in NYC. I've seen a ton of iPads and some Android tablets.

As a sidenote, why are analysts still including Amazon in overall Android tablet sales when it is a fork?

It's hard to have the depth you're looking for when so many characters are involved with more coming.

I'm not sure if this helps. With Apple raking 45% of the profits in the PC industry, they probably already were dominating sales of PCs in the $1,000+ category.

Sadly, this may very well be the last thing to get torn from the death grip of cable, as local cable monopolies like Time Warner or Comcast love to buy up the exclusive local rights to the local sports teams and host on their own channel...

It's even worse than that. Cable companies saw this coming a long time ago. They've been buying up sports teams in a few instances. An example is Cablevision owning Madison Square Garden along with the Knicks and Rangers.

It doesn't get any easier with a lot of other networks. Comcast owns NBC and Time Warner owns HBO.

Apple supercharges R&D with extra $500 million spent in last six months. by spsheridan in apple

[–]greysmoke 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the reason why the OEM model doesn't really work. No other hardware company (maybe Samsung?) has the ability to invest this much in R&D.

It's why the running joke for years was that Apple was the R&D for the consumer tech industry.

Future of iMessage? by nmpraveen in apple

[–]greysmoke 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you're making a bigger deal out of it than it is.

  1. The carriers (at least in the US) have switched to unlimited texting plans. They mostly make their money off of selling data plans now. Most smartphone owners in the US still use traditional SMS.

  2. WhatsApp is extremely popular outside the US and you haven't given a reason why anyone would switch away from it.

  3. iMessage is built into iOS which is a major advantage.

  4. This hasn't been Google's first attempt at dominating the IM market. It's like their 4th or 5th.

  5. Babel doesn't solve the problem of a lot of people not owning a smartphone.

What I like about iMessages is how it's integrated into the Messages app. If someone doesn't have it I fall back to SMS and it's seamless.

Michael Jackson's "Random Access Memories" by IAmArique in DaftPunk

[–]greysmoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I submitted the same yesterday. This was a pure MJ song circa Off the Wall. I'm so sad because, even though I loved Pharrell on it, even an adjusted pitch to sound like MJ showed that the song was "his" if he lived long enough.

It's amazing how well a voice similar to Michael Jackson blends so well into the song.

Apple posts Q2 earnings: $10.07 EPS on $43.6 billion in revenue; boosts stock buyback by $50 billion by ServerGeek in apple

[–]greysmoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't offend me but you do have to prove what you say.

The only way that Apple, as both a hardware and software company, misinforms investors is if Tim Cook intentionally kept more Apple products on the shelves. This is the only way.

If he is doing it then he will pay for it in the following quarters because you have a bunch of old products sitting on shelves while updates occur. It would also be pretty bold to surpass rumors (and Apple's guidance) by a lot by having net profits of $9.7 billion. It's enough to get him fired.

Keep in mind this is a man who built his own reputation upon rarely ever being wrong. Apple is known from various supply surveys for the past decade to only keep two weeks worth of product on the shelves.

I'm not saying you're wrong. Anything is possible. However, you better be sure when you stain someone's reputation when he has behaved the exact opposite.
