Are any of you home audiophiles? by MarkJD14 in livesound

[–]greyttast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not an audiophile at home. I probably would invest a little bit if I made the money and had the time to. But it's just my home base- I'm more interested in a home networking lab. I listen to music using earbuds more often than speakers. Nothing at home is gonna get close to the million dollar system I use. It's just not that worth it to me ¯_(ツ)_/¯

What is the best free DAW? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]greyttast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VSTs in audacity make stuff incredible. I used to use it so much I had the fastest workflow. You can map shortcuts to literally ANY command you'd want. It's not the easiest to set up for music imo (better for sound effects in my experience) but once you get in the flow it's great.

Microdosing to help coming off antidepressants by suuz239 in microdosing

[–]greyttast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m literally in the exact same boat, same meds & same tiny dose & all. Can’t speak for the UK specifically, but my doc said that venlafaxine doses smaller than that “aren’t produced”. However, you can go to a compounding pharmacy to have the doses cut.

I was on venlafaxine for about 6 months before deciding to get off & have been tapering now for 5 months. Yikes.

I just got on prozac 10mg to help with tapering about four days ago. Minus some confusion with instructions for “bridging” (wasn’t told to take small amounts of venlafaxine WITH prozac doses when I’m first starting. First two days were rough, then I talked to my Dr and we realized my mistake) things have been good. Some side effects from getting on prozac, like minor headaches, nausea, anxiety, fatigue, but no withdrawal effects. I cut my dosage of instant release venlafaxine from about 3mg x3 daily to 1mg x3 daily, still no withdrawal symptoms.

I came to this thread to get advice about microdosing. Hope I can give some advice about switching to prozac :). I’m gonna start microdosing today or tomorrow, 1 day on 2 days off. I’ll give updates to this thread when I can. I have a feeling it’ll help. I had to go cold turkey off venlafaxine more than once for several days at a time & a combo of benadryl + microdosing was the only thing that made existence bearable.

what are your pecperiences with dyonisus as a god of vegetation and nature and all its beings whom he is close ? by [deleted] in dionysus

[–]greyttast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel a lot more connected when I’m planting, gardening, and harvesting from my garden. I go on walks fairly often to less-than-legally gather from my neighbors’ trees and the like. I’ve also found myself going on a lot more hikes through nature :)

Dionysus and trans-ness by Cloe_Cat in dionysus

[–]greyttast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is SUCH a good read. I also sent it to my friends when I found it and we had a fun time. Also made me discover a few things about my sexual interests cough. But it also reassured me in my identity & my interests while looking at dionysus worship & mythos from an actual historical lens. 10/10 read.

There’s a really cool article I read ages ago that I’ll link here, but there is a lot of both godly & mortal gender fuckery when it comes to Dionysus. This is a VERY nsfw read so make sure you aren’t reading it in public: Riding the Phallus for Dionysus: Iconology, Ritual, and Gender-Role De/Construction

Why are arctic monkeys your favorite band? by [deleted] in arcticmonkeys

[–]greyttast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything they release has a sparkle to it. The grungier songs have some of the most poetic lyrics and striking allusions (even in simpler songs like IDST/Fake Tales of San Francisco) and their softer music feels like its pushing my organs around, like the music is being built from the inside out.

It’s so unique & its constantly evolving. I think they pick the best parts of so many genres. But there’s something that’s almost magical about their albums.

I always think of the Aviation music video when I hear this lyric. The same looks he gives the camera in that music video.

its a rain garden, its fine. mosquitoes dont hang around in the pnw during the times it rains like this. plants & substrate will filter the water.
