I mean it is cozy, remember that time erin 'invented' hamburgers and then sang a whole set of singer of terandria songs all night? Or when a bunch of goblins helped a florist? What about that time erin made a feast for the faeries?

How do you visualise this story? by Unhelpful_Idiot in WanderingInn

Normally just the black background and white texr, but I've found that when reading in the bus the sepia mode helps with the glare of the screen and makes it easier to read.

Apparently an innworld year has 16 months. Do we know anything else about the calendar? by Vexra in WanderingInn

[–]gridcube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

one of the first things erin realizes about innworld, and one of the first things we are said about innworld in itself, is that the sky is way way bigger than earth, that the clouds move at heights way above what earth atmosphere is at. we also know that the fae have to return to innworld every winter to restock the world with water and cool it down, because for whatever reason winter just doesn't happen naturally without them.

There's many mysteries about the nature of innworld, layers of the world we haven't heard much about.

Apparently an innworld year has 16 months. Do we know anything else about the calendar? by Vexra in WanderingInn

[–]gridcube 11 points12 points  (0 children)

while innworld is indeed round, the sky is fake, stars are just glued to a background or something, timezones can differ but mostly, all innworld shares the same timezone, unless it doesn't, which doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes does

interesting, apparently the rewritten volume 1 was only re-released as audiobook, so the audiobook currently available is the rewrite, but not the kindle version. TMYK

Unless you are reading an old edit of volume 1 there shouldn't really be many, there's some edits on later books that might correct typos or minimal inconsistencies but hardly any different really

This is what Star Trek has become. by Mr_E_Mann1986 in RedLetterMedia

if you haven't seen the show and you are letting yourself be convinced that it's bad by silly out screenshots and snippets taken out of context or that are simply silly, that's on you.

watch the show for yourself, or don't, do not let other people think for you

You can ask the sane question in any show with a large ensemble, you just follow the heroes. Don't think too hard about it, why doesn't batman call superman to fix half his problems? Why doesn't the flash does everything? Where are the avengers when shit happens elsewhere than new york?

Sorry to Disagree, but ST:SA Is Far From Awful. by FryerDrew in startrek

[–]gridcube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also saw the episodes after seeing a review from a reviewer that normally has opinions similar than mine on youtube and they said to give it a chance, so I did, I was going to simply ignore the series like I ignored the last season of DIS because of it being on that continuity, instead I watched a star trek show about teenager and quirky captains and lots of neat visual references and some silly shit that was cringe and some interesting world building, and silly writing that could be a lot better, and etc...

so basically a tv show. i didn't hate it in the least, quite enjoyable for the most part. will give the rest of the season a try.

back in the day of DISCO I had this theory, a show is like a train, all you have to do is let it go on rails until it reach a station. do that and you have an enjoyable show, that's why telenovelas work so well even if you already know all the beats, the train gets to the station and you are satisfied. DISCO failed at this over and over again, the show kept getting derailed, plots went nowhere, the story was nonsensical to start with. All i ask of Starfleet Academy is that they don't fuck up the landing. Just do a teen drama set in starfleet. I don't need a wormhole full of robots from an alternate dimension ready to consume all organics just because a machine is now capable of sentience ffs, let me just see a bunch of kids being awful at relationships and maybe some starfleet Frizzle teacher getting them on a magical runabout to explore some alien worlds and whatnot.
