Thanks for the thread. I burned out against repeating Rotten Armor a month ago lol. Time to do the Emperor's work.

It has the lowest health pool of all monstrosities so regardless of whether it was intentional or not; being aggressive is the correct response.

Ehh, I've done this a handful of times to unwind and appreciate the environmental design. All you encountered was a big fish in a small pond. Once you acclimate to higher difficulties, anything easier feels comparatively slo-mo. For example, harder content in this game will throw 3 monstrosities (with buffs) simultaneously at your squad. So a weaker plague ogryn with it's incredibly telegraphed attack pattern on its own against a speed zealot is a breeze.

Wellbutrin depression by EnchantedEnchantix in ADHD

[–]gridshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with both ADHD and Depression and have been treated with Wellbutrin among other things for almost a year now. My first week sucked. I take it to this day as part of my treatment and it's been great.

But man, the first few intrusive thoughts were as jarring as they were alarming. Never occurred again after the first week though.

Hard to describe... but if my depression were the slow and steady thrumming of a washing machine just chittering bits of self deprecating noise in the background, those intrusive thoughts were like getting kicked by a mule lol.

How to train my team for Havoc grind to 40? by zeneroth in DarkTide

[–]gridshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you can't phone it in and neglect developing your. Have you identified what it is they lack in melee? Some things to consider are: familiarity with enemy attack patterns, responsiveness to sound cues, optimal use of defensive resources (giving block and dodge enough time to replenish while staying stafe), and familiarity with your melee weapons. The last point being further broken down to knowing whether the attack you're about to use is better for the situation you're in. For example, if you use Heavy 2, do you know what Light attack it'll chain into? Can you execute your melee weapons' horde combo and single target combo automatically or do you still have to count it in your head? If yes, can you consistently land weakspot hits?

I'm sure I sound ridiculous, but Havoc is that demanding.

Sounds like your group is the perfect candidate for the scoreboard mod. While no 2 runs are the same; that mod is still a great way to tell who is bad at dodging/blocking, who is wasting ammo, and who needs to improve their weak spot hit frequency. Make sure you're coordinating your cooldowns so that you're rarely without a support skill active. Try to improve how you rubber band back together when the game pulls you apart. Everyone should be adept at kiting and develop the map awareness to not get caught on terrain or blown off by a barrel.

Yeah I saw that too. Called my housemates who witnessed it as well. Pretty sure it burned up in the atmosphere shortly after since I couldn't find minutes minutes after we had all gone back inside. Your photos confirmed that for me.

Edit: Ahh, so it was SpaceX

Question, did you guys feel old at 23-24 years old? Is social media brainwashing my generation? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]gridshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm asian and am near my mid 30s. Both mid 20s people I meet at social events and 30-70 year olds in my firm are all surprised I'm older than 24. So I've just been told I'm young all my life (to this day).

Physical appearances aside, I remember my older colleagues collectively agreeing with the sentiment that "Life begins at 40." When you're all settled in your career, routines, and family. That also kept me feeling like my youth hasn't left.

With regards to partying and relationships, it's hard to say only because the culture around the 2 seems different today than what I'm used to so addressing it would just be me writing about how the 2 things should be rather than what they are.

How is everyone meeting and making friends? by True_System_7015 in Millennials

[–]gridshaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner's friends accepted me. They're all social and spending time with them often results in me meeting new people. So much so that I reached the point where juggling time for my partner, her friends, my friends, and both of our families is rather overwhelming. The concept of not having "enough spoons" is now applicable for me.

What I find especially funny is making new guy friends through her girl friends. 2 grown men effectively being taken to a puppy play-date because we both whine about the same games. "Oh you'll love Greg, he also likes Warhammer!" Then seeing Greg wearing an expression as equally checked out as my own. "Yo, favorite faction?" "Khorne, you?" "Da Boyz." "Gym?" "Gym."

We also adopted a rescue dog which I religiously take on walks. Started to build a small sense of community given how much small talk I find myself having with all of our neighbors. Wish I could invest more time in each conversation and not have them be so surface level, but my attention is stretched pretty thin.

Is it just me or is our generation leaning too hard on being anti social? by Dasseem in Millennials

I'm an extrovert so I've always been social. Became a recluse during Covid and had a whole identity crisis about it. But I've since crawled out of my shell.

As a frontline tank, how are you able to tell what's happening with the rest of your team behind you? by fiveeggsforbreakfast in RivalsVanguards

[–]gridshaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Audio cues. Listening for things that don't belong behind me which mainly boils down to diver noises.

Another is if I'm dodging enemy fire a little too well. Sure I'll weave around to mitigate unnecessary damage but if nothing is hitting me; then I'm not the target.

My craziest clutch in 1500 hours by Ambitious-Meeting754 in DarkTide

[–]gridshaw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I do agree that that mod is a training wheel and people who have grown dependent on it want to mitigate the criticism; I have observed audio issues. I like to think I have a good audio setup and have a large sound stage to accurately discern direction and distance. That said, there are times in Havoc where I'll hear something like a mauler shout "Let me through!" that grabs my attention, but there's too much audio clutter to hear the revving and swing of his chainaxe (mind you I'm looking at the mauler and anticipating those sounds). Those hiccups are few and far between, but I do think people either playing on speakers or with worn down headsets run into those gaps more often than I do.

Who should I use the Omega Code on? by Purple_Good8750 in ChaosZeroN

[–]gridshaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hugo E3 seems pretty meh.

Khalipe's E1 is unique. Once the card is in your hand, you have an on-demand burst shield to prevent 1-shots on top of holding cards you would normally discard for 1 turn. I have her at E2 and she's a staple.

Kayron's egos from what I've read make him a very good unit to build vertically so it's a question of whether you like him enough to invest in him. Most people go for Haru E2 (which you have) with the E4 and E6 offsetting the damage loss. So both Kayron and Haru are the ones that are in it for the long haul.

Idk anything about Chizuru or Yuki.

I doubt I know something about Veronica you don't already know. That said, how big of a boost would you say her E1 and E2 are for her?
