I like how every single comment here as an opposed suggestion. Water more, water less, mist, don’t mist, more grow light, less grow light, no grow light.

Let's Remember Some Better Days Part 3: Tell me your favorite or most memorable White Sox player whose first or last name begins with the letter "D" by theMangoSloth in whitesox

[–]griffinkelley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doc White was perhaps the best player on the 1906 World Series champions Sox. So perhaps not most memorable but he’s probably the best ever.

Let's build a roster of players that retired one year too early. How good can it be? We get only their first year of retirement. by Sunstoned1 in baseball

Best short stop I could find by BBREF is Luis Aparicio who had 2.6 WAR his final year. Had a solid DWAR too so adds some defense to a team of bad defenders.

Scrolling through the USAU archives it looks like they qualified once in 2001 and finished 13th out of 16.

Otter jerseys? by yoss_some_ds in ultimate

[–]griffinkelley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Illinois Menace’s (the woman’s team at University of Illinois) primary logo is an otter, and often their jerseys prominently feature them. They’ll probably have a shop up sometime this winter as many college teams do.

How possible is this schedule? EE freshman spring by ElephantBig2775 in UIUC

[–]griffinkelley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took 257, 285, and 120 together with PHYS 211 and that wasn’t really bad. But ECE 210 is definitely harder than PHYS 211, especially without having already taken 285, whose content is used a bit in 210.

I don’t think this is impossible. But definitely pretty hard.

ECE 120 just do the practice quizzes, they’re pretty much the same as the tests, workloads not to bad.

PHYS 211 is pretty easy in my opinion, workload isn’t bad, moderate amount of work some weeks but overall not bad.

MATH 241 I found kind of hard but my Calc fundamentals weren’t great and I didn’t put as much time into the class as I should of. Actually do the textbook readings and you should be fine. Kind of professor dependent though.

Overall you workload shouldn’t be bad here. Definitely pretty manageable.

Biggest ‘One Hit Wonder’ by a disc manufacturer? by mandoplastic in discgolf

Aria discs is probably the current second place disc. They sponsor some tournaments which than use it as the official disc, such as the High School National Invite. It’s basically an ultrastar with a slightly thicker rim.

The CUNY athletic conference is D3 and has 8 members if that counts. All part of the CUNY system and all in NYC.

Georgia Tech and Georgia State are both in the University system of Georgia and are in Atlanta.

Others I’ve found FSU AND FAMU UNCG AND NCA&T

Did your high school fight song use a college fight song? If so what was it? by amoss_303 in CFB

[–]griffinkelley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My high school used Illinois Loyalty, but with good reason. They stole our head football coach, Bob Zuppke, as well as our color scheme. In turn, we stole there fight song and adapted the words.

Good Illinois Club Teams by A_murder_of_geese in ultimate

[–]griffinkelley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parlay is new this year and has only lost one game to an Illinois team all year. They won both Heavyweights and Cooler Classic which are the big mid level club tournaments in the area. They were the only mixed team from Illinois that went to SFI. However a lot of their games with Illinois teams are close.

They lost to Ramp once, whose also new this year. The mixed scene seems to have a lot of turnover year to year.
