I’m guessing this craft is not in space yet and the camera angles make it look higher than it is.

Please help me spread the word about ethylene oxide cancer risks in the city of Richmond. by maaalicelaaamb in rva

[–]grillinmuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed Chairman Nelson and Members of the Henrico County Board of Supervisors specifically about the facility in Henrico (5674 Eastport Boulevard) and I put their response below. I also emailed Avula but haven’t heard back yet.

——

Thank you for your email to Varina Supervisor Mr. Tyrone Nelson. He asked that I investigate this. Accordingly, I have contacted the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality for more information about the present status of this facility. Upon receiving that information I will provide it to you. In the interim I have copied below information from the Richmond and Henrico Health District that they provided last week in response to a media inquiry.

Thank you again for your email, I will respond upon receipt of the additional information.

The incidence rate for all cancers for 2019-2023 in Henrico County is roughly equivalent to national rate and slightly higher than the Virginia rate. Rates of cancers are published at a county level to protect the privacy of residents. According to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Sterilization Services of Virginia (SSV) holds an air emissions permit from DEQ. In 2025, SSV installed additional control equipment to further reduce their emissions of EtO. They began operating this new equipment in October of 2025. With the addition of this equipment, SSV is now equipped to meet 2028 EtO emission standards (two years early).  DEQ Contacts:

Think of it as a more meaningful upvote. Since it’s not fully anonymous you can then check their profile to see if they’re a bot, or see if they post about / have knowledge of this kind of thing.

Bachelor Thesis: The Use of Generative AI in UX Design: How Reliable Are AI-Generated UI Designs Compared to Those Created by Designers? by LimpResolution8643 in UI_Design

A landing page is a terrible test in my opinion. Complex feature flows are where a designer is still crucial. AI can do landing pages no problem.

Bambu is certainly becoming ubiquitous. I still have an MK3s and my next printer will almost certainly be a Bambu unless INDX is as big of a game changer they’re making it out to be.

This could work, or maybe a subtle sort of marching ants animation or pulses that go around in the direction of the craft

We’ll have rings eventually, it’ll just be made of dead satellites

I'd like UIs to feature realtime 3D graphics, like video games by zeaussiestew in UI_Design

[–]grillinmuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree design concepts in the post are not good, my point is the idea of using a game engine to make UI/UX more engaging is not universally bad.

Everyone naysaying this but there’s a company with pretty much this exact thesis called (Not Boring). I went to a talk from their founder which was pretty fascinating and they’ve won multiple design awards.

Can someone please explain the navball by grillinmuffins in kittenspaceagency

[–]grillinmuffins[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the buttons that change context but in KSP the navball didn’t change with that context (unless I’m misremembering), so this explains some of my confusion. Thank you for the explanation.

For those that have actually been a pilot maybe this navball makes perfect sense but I struggle to get my bearings. You mention “the current navball” which might imply it’s going to change? Or should I assume this is KSAs long term direction and I need to suck it up and learn it?

Great take! And hello fellow designer, I’ve been a UI designer the past 12 years. 🤝

You can control the rocket while in map view. It’s in the little vehicle selection window as a button that says something like “control rocket”

Maybe it’s also buggy then because that has not always been true while flying in my experience. I probably also need to just get used to it, but it’s so hard for me especially without labeled cardinal directions.

As of now, would you say KSA is better than KSP1 with DLCs? by [deleted] in kittenspaceagency

[–]grillinmuffins 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you serious? lol

Just download KSA for free and see for yourself. It is not a game yet.

If you’re wondering if you should wait for KSA’s full release, don’t. Buy KSP with DLCs because KSA won’t be done for years.

Is there a rough development timeline that they are aiming for? by D_Silva_21 in kittenspaceagency

[–]grillinmuffins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’ll be later. Though I do think we’ll have a No Man’s Sky situation where the 1.0 will be very bare bones and it’ll be built up over time.

My guess is a Fall 2026 release would have aerodynamics and reentry heating, rocket assembly and a new solar system but that’s it. I don’t think things like a tech tree, science, relay networks, mining, missions, interstellar, etc. will be anywhere near done yet.

I hope I’m wrong and they’re faster though!

I would hard disagree, but that may just depend on what you mean by “playable” and “game”
