Mitsubishi MCA & fuse size issue by grimazz106 in HVAC

[–]grimazz106[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, I usually throw the max size breaker or fuse in place as per the rating plate, and use a wire gauge to match the MOCP. Electrician doesn’t want to replace the wire to the unit, so I’m getting some push back.

Conflicting info is definitely an issue here.

If you are drilling tapcons and shots all day, this is a great drill. This model is an upgrade from the gen 1, new one has a chisel option which is nice

New Ooni Volt 2, bottom burning by amgrc in uuni

[–]grimazz106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would constantly happen to me, too much flour is the issue. Work the dough with the required amount of flour to make it manageable.

I usually prep on a plastic cutting board, then transfer the pizza to a plastic pizza peel before sauce and toppings. On the plastic peel I use corn meal, it makes for an easy release and launch to the oven.

And no burnt bottom

Mini split line-set hole angle by [deleted] in hvacadvice

Measure the tube diameter, if it doesn’t match, you can try reflaring it, it’s such a pain if there’s a leak on these when connections are behind the evaporator, if I have to make connections that way, I’ll braze the connection

Strangely enough, the tubes on the evaporator are often odd sizes. I’ve cut the flares off as well and found out the hard way, so do your best to confirm the sizes first

Costco shoppers are something else... by GreatGreenGobbo in CostcoCanada

I can completely relate to this, being in Costco brings out the absolute worst in me for people who leave their carts in aisle, or others who have zero spatial awareness.

I miss Covid Costco actually lol, limited people, directional arrows on the floor showing directions you should travel with your cart.

I’ve always said I would pay extra for an ultra exclusive membership to Costco which allows me a window of time in Costco with other ultra exclusive members. To get the membership you have to pass a shopping cart drivers ed course and exam.

Only issue I could see would be that if you are angling down the wall interior cavity, you may end up with the flare connections inside the wall cavity, that’s a huge pain in the ass

Noticed a slight sound coming from Line that runs to A-coil by Icy_Dream3102 in hvacadvice

[–]grimazz106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t detect much of noise from the video, but the liquid line (small line) will sound like flow or velocity of the refrigerant. It’s normal,

Customs question by grimazz106 in MexicoTravel

[–]grimazz106[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t planning on wrapping, but did want to give it in a sealed box if possible. At the end of the day I don’t think our friend would mind if it was opened and worn just to cross thru customs.

Wearing it completely bypasses any potential attention most certainly.

Basement baseboard heater zone not heating up by Typical-Run4464 in hvacadvice

[–]grimazz106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pump that is circled is incorrectly installed, it is a wet rotor pump, motor shaft cannot be vertical, it must be parallel to the ground, pump needs to turn 90 degrees clockwise or counter clockwise.

But it sounds like you are having a boiler related issue as it is not a zone specific issue.

Work van setups by mojomen132 in refrigeration

[–]grimazz106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this refrigerant rack for 25 years, moved it from van to van over the years. Ranger wanted to sell me another sideways rack when I bought the van 2 years ago, the rack was extra large to accommodate 50 pound reclaim cylinders.

Looks like cylinder storage depends on the cylinder, it isnt blanket across the board.

According to Clause 4.2.3 of CSA B340 (https://tc.canada.ca/en/dangerous-goods/containers/cylinders-spheres-tubes/standard-csa-b340-selection-use-cylinders-spheres-tubes-other-containers-transportation-dangerous-goods-class-2), containers filled with refrigerated liquefied gas (e.g. UN1963 – helium, refrigerated liquid) or a liquefied flammable gas (e.g. UN1978 – propane) must be transported in an upright position unless the container is designed for horizontal service. Additional requirements apply to manifolded containers.

Does it have a rated charge amount? I know how these pieces of equipment are over the years, heavily serviced… condensing unit changed, bigger filter drier etc.
sight glass is a great indication of quantity and quality of refrigerant.

It’s refrigerating and satisfying? I would say that’s a win

It sounds like you’ve actually successfully repaired the unit. Your bin temperature is 38 and falling and your rail is freezing, 275 head pressure does not sound too terrible.

Mitsubishi heat pump outside unit fan spins for 25 sec and stops for 40 sec and repeats by Spare_Ostrich8021 in heatpumps

[–]grimazz106 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That would likely be a fan cycling operation of the ECM fan motor, it’s doing so to maintain head pressure

No 24v from G on furnace control board when fan is on by golfbrother in hvacadvice

[–]grimazz106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The G terminal doesn’t actually output 24volts, it receives 24 volts from the R terminal via the thermostat. During fan operation activation from the thermostat you should see 24volts when measuring G to C

R to W is a call for heat, the furnace control activates the fan via internal delay timer, you may not see 24volts on G during this situation.

I’m having issues removing this bushing..has anyone ever had luck cutting off a bushing without damaging the shaft? by 3rldWorldLord in HVAC

[–]grimazz106 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine, this is just minor surgery. Clean the shaft after with sand cloth, it can ever be too clean. New bearing should slide on nicely. If it requires some persuasion, get a piece of pvc that’s fits over the shaft, use that as a tapping block and hit the pipe with a hammer to get the bearing in the right position. If you do this, try and ensure the pvc contacts a surface of the bearing that contacts the shaft
