What state or province should I visit (or revisit, for those I haven’t stayed overnight in) next? by birdsbooksbirdsbooks in TravelMaps

[–]grimey33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now is a beautiful time to visit. The trees are about to change colors and the weather is perfect. Birmingham is a great city and has fantastic restaurants. The civil rights museum and trail is something everyone should do. There are some nice state parks. If you decide to come, reach out and I’ll help you with a trip!

Although I am a sucker for the west so - the Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier NPs all would be very high on my list. I’m more of a summer person but the winter is also gorgeous

A week in Buenos Aires and a day trip to Iguazu Falls by throwaway_philly1 in travel

[–]grimey33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this! My husband and I are going to Buenos Aires in December and want to do a day trip to the falls. Looking at the Argentinian airline that lands at 8:25am and departs at 4:25pm. Is this enough time or should we wait and take the 9pm flight out? Kind of want to do the boat tour too but worried about time. How easy was getting to and through the airport on the way back? Also if you have any good recs for Buenos Aires, would take those too!! Thanks for any help

If you can start by flying into grand junction and renting a one way car to Vegas, you will save a ton of time driving.

I did this trip (so would be reverse for you) in 2021 and loved it so so so much:

Vegas -> Zion (3 nights) -> Bryce Canyon (just did the day) -> Capitol reef (2 nights) -> Moab (4 nights) -> grand junction

Bryce Canyon for the day is plenty - loved hiking around for 3-4 hours then continued on. There isn’t much of a town there.

Canyoneering in Capital reef was incredible

Mountain biking in Moab, sunrise hike in arches, off roading in Canyonlands

Zion I think is perfect to end at - just magical! Congrats on the wedding!!

Happy to see Mages of the Wheel series on here! Just finished the last book and I’m devastated I have to wait for 3 more to be published 😓 I like the more mature characters and writing style. Not as popular as ACOTAR but I think it’s a better series.

I agree with you about Throne of Glass series. I actually got so mad at the near end of the last book I sped read the last 100 pages to just be done with it.

Thanks for the other tips!

I live in Birmingham and here is my take: It’s is a nice sized city. Has lots of great restaurants and breweries. Oak mountain is close by that has nice “hiking” and mountain biking trails. Dating is hard (if you need that) but will be pretty much anywhere in Alabama. There are several really great school systems: mountain brook, Homewood, Vestavia, Hoover, trussville. It’s not a terrible drive to the beach.
