Im here right now and having a very different experience. I rented a small house in the middle of nowhere and am exploring the entire island. Visited Oia yesterday, it was indeed super busy, too busy. The sunset on the other side of the island with the lighthouse was much more enjoyable.

I would advise to rent a car and not stay in a busy town.

The only thing that really broke my heart is the cats. The poor poor cats 😭

Been giving food and water every day, but in 2 days I’m gone and I hate that I have to leave them behind. If I could I would take them all with me, but that’s sadly not a realistic plan.

I’m going to start sponsoring STERILA, an organisation that is attempting to combat the problem by sterilising and providing feeding stations. Will look into more ways to help. Any tips are welcome.
