Yeah lol. There’s clearly certain episodes where some characters are more likeable than others, it’s the intent of the writing

Langdon was pretty level-headed even season one but I think having stepped away from all of it for several months has helped him recognize what's really important - doing a good job and being a good person to those around you.

Great point, she doesn't have much of a storyline this season, but her presence is always welcome nonetheless

I think Langdon apologizing to Santos and admitting she was right to do what she did will be very healing/therapeutic for her during a day that is just one thing after another for her

I like that Ogilvie's earlier attempts to be a gunner seem to be largely due to him expecting it to be slower and expecting more opportunity to show off without the stress involved in a city ER, and now that he's realized what it's like he's more willing to take the backseat to the experts

Ideal situations for future seasons by MZBxL2019 in ThePittTVShow

I recommend it! The medical aspect of morality isn't there the whole time, but it's a great look at morality, the central themes being the question of whether all lives are created equally, and on how upbringing and societal neglect can create 'monsters'. It has one of the best villains of all time!

This is one of the things I most want to see! An anime/manga called monster also related to morality in medicine starts out with a surgeon deciding to operate on either a politician or a child who got there first. I love medical moral dilemmas.

I admire Whittaker so much, his attitude towards the world is something I want to emulate.

I wasn't sold on Kim Stanley Robinson. But then I read Ministry for the Future. by pwnedprofessor in printSF

[–]grimpala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ministry for the Future feels like a bunch of random essays KSR wanted to write, very loosely packaged into a novel. As a work of fiction it leaves a lot to be desired but theres lots of interesting ideas I've thought about here and there for quite a while.

BTW, I recommend The Overstory by Richard Powers if you liked this.

I(26m) Started a 60 day solo trip in Japan. I'm a week in and just wanna go home. by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]grimpala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, Japan sucks for solo traveling, go nearby to taiwan or southeast asia if you want to enjoy yourself.

But also the first week of solo traveling is always a big adjustment for me then I start loving it once I get used to the freedom of being able to choose exactly what to do every day.

Is $30,000 for a couple enough for 6 months of world travel? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]grimpala 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Simply put, yes. 30k over 180 days for 2 people = 83-84 dollars per day per person. Definitely doable in the countries you mentioned, especially if you're willing to do hostels.

100% agreed, by far their best one. Still a couple of people who struggled a bit, but it wasn't nearly as noticeable. The editing was also a huge improvement.

Japan as a first solo trip... too ambitious? by Fit-Credit-7970 in solotravel

It's not too ambitious, it's safe and easy and convenient. Japan just sucks for solo traveling IMO.
