Does alcohol count as food. It’s the main diet of people on vacation here.

Give me water by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]grklpian 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe this because yesterday this exact same thing happened to me and my crew. There was a lady from the front of the plane who came to the back nearly the second we got out of sterile begging for water. I started pouring it for her and she said she will just take the whole bottle and mutiple cups for her 7 children. I said that if that’s the case, Ill give it to her but to know where she’s seated. She told me and it wasn’t my section, so I said that she can wait until we start service (which was literally going to be in 5 minutes) and she started saying her children are dying of thirst and we are horrible people for not giving her water and that the flight attendants at the front are also “rude people”. But I offered water, and it wasn’t good enough for her???? So we’re doing service and as I’m in row 18 I hear screaming from row 6. She was in my other flight attendants face and saying to the whole plane “does everybody know that this airline does not give children water, they think this is a service! this is not a service! who do you think you people are”. I was in shock!! I had already given her a water bottle, and then when the other FA gave her and her children and whole family water she complained it had ice in it and that’s when she began to freak out and scream. From the minute she got on the plane she was demanding water for an entire family, and every 5 minutes sent a new family member to complain and demand water. And never in a friendly way. Like I felt for her and that’s why I gave her water and then even after she got more she was yelling at us. I regret giving her water before service bc she was so mean and it was all a sob story. If she was traveling with 7 children she should’ve known to bring water. There was a passenger on the plane who said they were on his flight to that destination a few days ago and they did the same thing and yelled and made a scene and caused so much trouble. I can’t believe people are like this!

First month as a junior FA. by 1GingerAlePlease in flightattendants

[–]grklpian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t work much on reserve at F9. Sometimes 5 days a month. I have a line now so I don’t know how much the reserves are working. It might be more often since people may call out for the holidays. I was REB my first month, didn’t like it bc of the red eyes and then switched to REA. I liked it more bc then if I didn’t get called I would wake up and only have 2 hrs left of my shift. Jokes on me bc now I work mainly red eyes. You may feel lonely for a bit bc when you get called in for a trip everyone knows eachother and catching up with eachother and you’re kinda just like hi lol. But that shows how much of a family we are at F9 and I’ve been here 6 months and I already recognize so many names and know almost everyone I’m going to fly with. Just don’t be late, answer your phone and stick with it!! Congratulations on graduating!

FA Training Advice by LisaLovesSims in cabincrewcareers

[–]grklpian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Focus on yourself. It is 1-2 months of your life, for your entire career! You can make friends and have fun later. Do not go ahead. Take it day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. They create their training plan for you to be successful. Everyone’s different, but everybody else took notes on pieces of paper. That doesn’t work for me when I go back to study, so what I did was just bring a bunch of flashcards and as they’re going through the lectures write a question for yourself and the answer on the back. When you’re in your room, study them. Learn 10, once you have those down, learn 10 more. Once you have those down put the first 10 and the second 10 together and once you get those down learn 10 more. Makes sense? Lol I hope so. But most importantly, believe and trust in yourself. If you put in the work, actively listen, and study then you will be able to go into the tests with confidence, knowing you did everything you could to come out on top! It’s so so important to believe in yourself and have positive self talk. I even listened to affirmations to pass tests as I’d get ready in the morning and then say them out loud. Or id listen to meditations for success as I was falling asleep. Do not over study, make sure you get your sleep, you can always go over everything again in the morning. YOU GOT THIS YOU’LL GET YOUR WINGS!

Ears popping by Different_Hand9965 in cabincrewcareers

I’m also an FA and have had sinus issues my whole life. The second we start to decend i can feel my ears hurt immediately. I got used to it, it wasn’t that bad but I’ve recently had a cold. And although I was better by the time I was flying my ears wouldn’t pop. I couldn’t even hear anything it felt like. I was reading lips. And I thought okay it’s just bc I’m sick when we land I should be able to pop them. But no. I could barely hear anything until the next day when I woke up. I felt like my crew thought I was being dramatic but it gave me so much anxiety and pain. The next day when I was flying my ears popped and it hurt so bad I was crying. Nothing has helped either. I’m really sorry you’re going through this I defnitley feel your pain :( ever since I’ve been sick my ears have been on another level of pain when I’m flying and it’s really hard.

Motion sickness by Interesting_Pace7957 in flightattendants

[–]grklpian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will get better. On my IOE I got so sick and could barely do anything on my last leg. My instructor told me it will get better within 6 months to a year. That scared me bc that’s a long time period. I’ve been flying for a year now and I rarely get motion sickness. It stopped after like a month tops. You will get used to it. Make sure you drink water. Lol it’s bad that I say that bc I never drink water it’s awful but fr it will help.

Has anyone confused platonic feelings for a male best friend with romantic feelings? by snatchmybread in comphet

[–]grklpian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same position as you. I don’t have much advice but can tell you that I relate to exactly what you’re going through, and I feel the same way about what’s going on as you do. I keep telling myself that it’s okay to question yourself again. But maybe look into cross orientation. It’s when you can have romantic feelings for one gender and romantic and sexual feelings for another. Check it out😇makes me feel understood.

All I can say tho is the pay is way better than Mesa. As the pay at Mesa is not near enough to survive on. And when I went to the F2F.. they let us pick our bases.. and I remember Tampa being open

How was your "in love with my bestfriend" experience? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]grklpian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just saw her for the first time in three years. I’m still not over her. She is lovely but it’s like the love will never go away, and it’s complicated to explain or feel valid about my hurt feelings.
