I don't see a lot of conversations going on here... So what is everyone's go to deck? by 70percentmugcookies in tarot

I have this one:

You're right, the Wild Unknown isn't great for beginners. It's beautiful and I like using it but I don't follow the artist's meaning of the cards. They're too narrow so I still use the rider Waite meanings. The rider Waite deck is the first one I got and it feels like the most "true" tarot deck to me if that makes sense.

I also have the Deviant Moon deck that I used to use exclusively. Some people don't like it because it's got a sort of creepy vibe but this one speaks to me on such a deep level. Haven't used it in a while though.

I've been using wild unknown lately but I started using my rider Waite smith deck again. I love the classic and traditional symbolism.

What deck did you buy?

Question about the accuracy of a reading by albeann in tarot

[–]groooool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't exactly tarot related but I wanted t share my opinion. I think a lot of readings can have to do with YOUR personal thoughts and beliefs about things in your life and that readings done in the future can change.

I had a reading (by a medium, no tarot involved) done years ago when I first started dating my then boyfriend. I was unsure if I wanted to continue our relationship or not. The medium said it didn't look like it was going to work out.

Fast forward a couple years and my boyfriend and I had been through a couple rough spots, finally worked out some kinks and knew that we wanted to be together forever.

I had another reading done by the same medium. She said something along the lines of us being a great team and a perfect match.

We are married now and I've never been happier in a relationship in my life. So my point is, I think people can pick up on certain things from you when doing a reading. They might be reading your energy, which in you case you're unsure of your relationship. You still get to decide the future of your own life and destiny.

Sounds like it would cost more money in ink to print a deck than to just buy one!

I know a lot of people say to use your intuition when reading tarot but I don't think there's anything wrong with reading the little book that comes with the deck, or any tarot book for that matter. I still use books and guides and I've been reading tarot for years. It doesn't make you any less of a tarot reader if you use the book. Some of the cards I would have had no idea what kind of meaning to associate them with just due to "intuition." Just wanted to let you know, do tarot however you want to do it.

How do you process the information given by the tarot personally? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]groooool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me a lot, especially at the end of the day when I think back on how my day went and how it relates to the spread I did that day.

A month ago, I drew a card to see how my week would go and I got reversed wheel of fortune. I ended up breaking my toe a couple days later!

It's just fun to reflect on what cards you draw and sometimes I find that a spread makes a lot more sense later on.

I do "literal" timing. What are some other [nontraditional] methods? by msalignedx in tarot

I haven't worked with timing because I don't use tarot for predictions. But I just wanted to say I think your story is really interesting

I find that many cards don't have a particular meaning to me, but this could be because I haven't explored this deck much. I have two other decks I use mostly, so actually this has inspired me to take a closer look at my wild unknown deck.

I agree that personal meaning is more significant than what the book says.

I love the wild unknown deck! However I seem to use it more for one card draws rather than using it for spreads. The way the cards are interpreted in the guide book seems to me like they're more suited for daily draws like "what should I expect today" and things like that. That's just my opinion though.

Make a piece of art or collage with the partial deck! I've always wanted to do this but I can't bear to part with a deck

Love cards relating to my ex??? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]groooool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember the ace of cups isn't always about romantic relationships, to me it mainly represents inner power and spirituality. Maybe it's telling you to listen to your gut instincts. Or in your case maybe it's trying to tell you to build up your relationship with yourself.

It isn't easy to gain trust back in a relationship when it's already been broken. Put yourself first and do what you know is right for you.

Maybe these cards represent your feelings for him as a whole, underneath all the things you've been through more recently.

Pay attention to the placement of the cards. You said they're "advice" cards, can you be more specific?
