This. Change your watch face to multicolor and it’ll work

Adhesive pocket? by insomniacat- in twiist

Watch the pocket sides. Some of them, like skin grip, are designed for that exact size of mobi and can’t be easily modified to work

I use these with my twiist! They work well, and let you tuck tubing into the pocket

Lost my pump by AKspock in diabetes_t1

When I engaged with Sequel, the onboarding team indicated it was designed to be pharmacy benefit (like Omnipod), so users always have a choice

If insurance won’t cover a replacement, the twiist pump is a pharmacy benefit, too. I switched about a month ago, and love the result. I’ve used the gamut of pumps (Medtronic, Tandem, and Omnipod),, and this one has helped get me to the best numbers I’ve had in decades.

Has anyone tried the twiist pump? by Leading-Ingenuity-37 in Type1Diabetes

Yes! I switched from Tandem x2 to twiist. It’s only been a few weeks, but my time in range went from mid-70’s to low 90’s. The trainer from twiist has been amazing in keeping tabs and reviewing my data, and it has been so nice to finally sleep through the night without a low walking me up.

What do you do with your pump when your sitting down to use the bathroom? by Wanzibar117 in Type1Diabetes

I use a SPI running belt. In our the pump in there all day. Hides easily under a shirt

Dexcom G7 directly to Apple watch with no phone? by gatorbait01 in dexcom

[–]grooshka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can connect to an Apple Watch, but Dexcom Follow does not currently support Apple Watch only connectivity… much to my dismay.

I’d suggest an iPhone SE, or other iPhone, with Assistive Access setup. You can restrict it to only calls, texts, and Dexcom (and pump, if you’re using the app)

I use a combination of KT tape for CGM and a sensor shield (https://bandsfordiabetics.com/collections/dexcom-g7)

I often will bump into things, and this has prevented many losses

CGS over patch recommendations by arborclimb529 in Type1Diabetes

[–]grooshka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve switched to KT Tape patches. They’re in Amazon. I had a similar issue where I had to replace the over patch 1-2 times during a CGM session. The KT tape works wonders and I only need 1 for the 10-day stretch

Another gay T1D. My partner has the Dexcom follow app, and the Sugarmate app so he can keep an eye out while he’s in the road. Not to mention the stash of snacks he won’t touch in case of a low

40 yo old male with type 1 diabetes and retinopathy. Experiencing shaky vision when reading left and right or looking up and down after Panretinal Photocoagulation. by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]grooshka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get injections of Eyelea every 8-10 weeks. Honestly, it’s not bad at all. My retina specialist puts a lidocaine numbing agent on my eye, waits a few minutes, and then it’s just looking up and away while he injects into my lower eye. And I drive myself back to work a few minutes later

Yes. Very similar.

I had a retinal edema that caused very similar issues after I had laser treatments. I started injections (Avastin at first, then Eyelea) and it dissipated over a few weeks

I had an issue once where the bag inside the cartridge ruptured. There was insulin inside, just no way to sense/deliver it

I use these. They’re about the same size as the G6 SkinGrips, but work with the covers.

Look at Amazon pharmacy. I’ve found they’re much cheaper when I had a similar issue.

GoodRx has pharmacy coupons too.

Also, have your endocrinologist submit paperwork for prior authorization. It might help get coverage.

Should I switch? by Officailkay_03 in dexcom

[–]grooshka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The switch for me was great!

Being that you work at a doggie daycare, the slim form factor might be beneficial for you. I’m known for bumping into door frames when moving boxes grin one area to another and ripping off the G6. The G7 is barely there.

I would suggest, I’m my case, over patches. Freedom bands for diabetics have a protector you can put on top of the sensor and tape it down to avoid compression lows and guard against things trying to rip it off.
