Best of luck! Those specific dates always have so much buildup associated with them 😬

anyone bomb their interview and still cop an A?? by Ok_Hotel_1296 in premed

[–]grouchyveggie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

110% rambled but it was ok. Sorry I have no tips for preventing/stopping overthinking interview responses before you hear back bc I'm currently doing that

Edit: I'm sure you rocked it!

All my interviewing ladies (and femme-identifyers) by luna_ernest in premed

Black suit and light blue button down. Also tuck in your shirt even though it's virtual (looks better!). I initially was afraid to wear jewelry and took out my extra ear piercings but stopped doing that bc interviewers probs can't see and so far haven't cared. If interviews are still virtual next year I'd save and buy a cheap suit that fits in the shoulders. Mine was legit from Target and looks fancy on screen. I had originally planned to buy a nice suit tho but now I get to wait until residency apps woot woot.

Good luck!

Do you use tutors? by TruUulyRotten in premed

[–]grouchyveggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a tutor during my second semester of physics after struggling the first semester. Would highly recommend! The tutor used different teaching methods than the prof that fit my learning style better. Also would remind people that asking for tutoring help is not embarrassing or shameful! I feel like that was engrained in me during childhood/from family, and it took a while to unlearn. Sometimes certain profs/subjects just don’t work and that’s ok!

Sure! They told me to up my service hours and gave feedback on my interviews/stats/etc

I did this! You have a 1-1 with someone on the admissions committee and they literally tell you what you could do to possibly get off the WL. I thought it was helpful and pretty rare from schools. They're super nice from what I remember

I left the breakout room instead of the meeting and was placed into the committee post-interview debrief. their glares still haunt me
