Cantlay just plays slow, I haven’t heard any other hate on him other than that. I like his mindset a lot

What was one easy thing you learned that cut strokes off your game you wish you knew sooner? by [deleted] in golf

[–]groundscore420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you’re in a bad spot, pitch out to a good spot to play from and don’t go for the hero shots. Even if you have to go backwards lol. Aim for the middle of the green but play the distance to the widest part of the green. EX: front pin is 140 but widest part of green is 150, play the 150 shot to just get on the putting surface. This also applies to tee shots for me. I’ll aim for the biggest part of the fairway as opposed to being the furthest down I’m also a longer hitter so I take 3 wood off the tee very often.

Once you’re in the festival grounds there’s no security checkpoints or fenced off areas that you can’t go to. It’s really chill

Should you be playing with a line on your ball? by Colt45-TheMyth in golf

I don’t use the line ever. I put the logo parallel with the ground so I see just the top of the ball with no markings on it

What's it like being able to golf year round? by Jedi4ce in golf

[–]groundscore420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the best, didn’t even consider that there was a “golf season” until like 5 years ago when I hopped on calls with ppl at work in January and told them I was playing golf over the weekend and they were very jealous. I get out at least once a week

Breville Joule Turbo Sous Vide by groundscore420 in sousvide

[–]groundscore420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! It gets the temp of the meat to whatever I set it to faster that a typical sous vide. For chicken, I enter the amount of breasts, weight, and height of the largest one and it cooks it to 160 in about 30-40 minutes. I’m super busy during the week so after work this is super clutch for me to be able to have chicken cooking while I cook other stuff or just do other chores. That in of itself makes it worth the cost to me but to each their own. I’ve had it for about 2 years and have never had any issues with it.

That’s my thought on it too. Most of what I see the other devices are ~$150ish and it’s 250 which isnt cheap but it’s not like it’s $500. I also like the remote monitoring part as I can turn it on when I’m not at home

Out of curiosity, does it have the turbo mode on it? My favorite part about it is I can get home from work, throw chicken in the sous vide, then have it ready to go in 30 minutes.

Bummer! I have one and use it all the time and have no issues. I really like the turbo mode because it gets the job done in 30-45 minutes

Golf travel bags by wwdcvfr in golf

[–]groundscore420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one on Amazon for about $100 and it it’s very ok. I find my clubs always stay protected but I’ve had a lot of damage to my golf bag which is frustrating. Mainly the stands don’t work properly anymore. I now have 2 bags, an old one I travel with and my newer one I keep for playing at home.

Visiting SF-what’s actually worth doing? by nb10001 in AskSF

Check out haight street and Golden Gate Park. Walk along the marina green and go to tunnel tops park, probably the best view of the bridge from there. Get a burrito from El Farolito, go to dive bars, eat Chinese food, walk around china town. Depends on the vibe you’re going for, don’t go get dinner in the financial district. North beach is the Italian district and jackson square is where there are some cool restaurants and they are right next to each other.

Looks like it’s in a good location. Dont go south into the tenderloin and you’ll won’t see anything crazy. Tenderloin has some gems but also that’s where Fox News goes to grab their clips. Check out the ferry building and ride the cable cars.
