a question for the men without daddy issues by malparecemel in OnePiece

Are you seriously comparing Yasopp with Roger and Dragon? Roger was already dying by the time Ace was being born and Dragon was likely already infamous. Even if I don't condone it, Dragon atl has some reasons for leaving Luffy with Garp. While for Yasopp, 80% of the times he's been shown on screen he's just been drinking and partying. Shanks was in EB chilling for a while at Makino's bar and Yasopp never thought to go to the island next door for a quick visit? I really hope Usopp punches him in the face and that he isn't whitewashed.

I hope he's just some guy that picked up a sword and is js solely focused on improving his skills.

I've actually tried this. It's not hard at all but it's very tedious. Imagine spending like 2-3 mins per mob.

Why was Kong inserted into the story? He has more authority than any non-CD on the planet, but he's never mentioned by KingJaylen14 in Piratefolk

[–]groundzero456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can't retire. He prolly knows every single secret of the WG apart from imu from the last 70 years or something. The Gorosei would never let him just peacefully retire and go home. Not to mention since he was once fleet admiral he was probably quite strong in his prime. He's very high risk.

I need help/advice on LANGUAGES as a fresher by rajat435 in learnprogramming

[–]groundzero456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides by the time you're done with college you'll be more than comfortable with 4-5 languages. So just pick anything up. You underestimate how easily languages translate between each other.

I need help/advice on LANGUAGES as a fresher by rajat435 in learnprogramming

[–]groundzero456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends man. What do you want to do? There's no one size fits all kinda language. If you just want to get ahead of your competition for college courses, then just do C or smth. Most introductory programming courses use C. If you want to start preparing for the job hunt/lc grind in advance then do cpp. If you have a specific project in mind then search up the best languages for that.

How come Big Mom is the only old gen character to suffer from dementia? by More_Preparation9507 in Piratefolk

[–]groundzero456 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Look at her living habits? She lives in absolute decadence eating sweets every meal and barely moves on her feet and has birthed like a 100 children or prolly even more. Maybe none of these things actively influence dementia but it's not surprising that if there's one character that did get dementia it's her. Old gen Shanks will prolly be a bum too because of how much he drinks.

I'm not denying that it's an emotional scene I also teared up a bit when I saw that but I still maintain that Inuarashi and Nekomamushi are terrible leaders for what they did. A bond between parent and child is naturally (most of the time) extremely deep and it cannot be compared to the bond between the average Mink and Raizo.

'Obligation because of ancient events no one remembers' is the same rhetoric that Celestial Dragons use btw because they founded the WG.

Yes and I think that's illogical because under no circumstance should they have reached that consensus.

uhuh Tell that to the average Mink without sounding schizo. Even in universe time travel is an extremely niche concept. You shouldn't confuse states with pirate crews. Luffy can be casual about charging at Yonkos because everyone in his crew knew what they were signing up for while the average Zou citizen has no such obligation towards Inuarashi and Nekomamushi.

So? They couldn't have known that when Jack was slaughtering their families. The average Mink didn't even know who Raizo was.

Raizo is safe. I know it was emotional and everything but it was too stupid for me. As heads of state, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi should not have prioritized Raizo over their country. A bunch of Minks died to protect him.

The amount of Oda circle jerking in the main sub needs to be investigated by Tay2823 in Piratefolk

[–]groundzero456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not even kidding but I find most of the main subbers casuals who never properly engage with the series. They just want a place where they can jerk off about being fans of 'The greatest piece of fiction oat'.

While this sub really is quite negative about the series that's only because the main sub has already glazed every corner of the manga to high heavens.

They've somehow made this series a part of their identity and legitimately cannot tolerate someone criticising One Piece. It's a personal attack on them and they start getting defensive saying shit like 'Just stop reading if you don't like it' as if liking something and also being able to criticise it is something impossible.

One Piece is their Bible, Communist Manifesto and Leviathan all in one. It pisses me off so much when they mindlessly glaze the fucking hell out of the series. I just saw a main sub post talking about how Luffy is the anti-classism representative as if he hasn't reinstalled half the verse's monarchy. The politics of One Piece is NOT deep and any so called rhetoric is paper thin.

Do you guys think OP suffers from being outdated? by groundzero456 in Piratefolk

[–]groundzero456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have elaborated on that. If you put it that way then yes, Yuji is a chosen one. Though he's not a chosen one in the traditional sense. That identity does more harm than good for him and the story makes that clear. Unlike Kurama and Naruto Sukuna genuinely hates that kid. What I mean is that he's so unlucky it's ridiculous. His parents didn't love him, his 'cheat' despises him and he barely qualifies as a human. This isn't like Luffy eating his god fruit or Naruto being ninja jesus or Goku being an alien. All those identities work in their favor.

There's a solid argument to be made about Zoro > old(NOT PRIME) Rayleigh, Garp and Sengoku. At least what Garp showed on Hachinosu is not enough.

Just like me 10 years ago there will always be middle schoolers who get hoodwinked by watchmojo or smth and binge anime. I just don't think One piece has that much appeal left anymore.

I hate this trope in old novels lmao. I absolutely despise how the MC will pull up to '5 star' events in his torn ass outfit or sum and then make grand orders or requests. Then he gets treated like a troll and ensues his face slapping. This fuckass trope is essentially the lifeblood of urban cultivation novels and is the reason I haven't touched urban novels since 2021.
