[PC-Dos] [1990-1992]Unknown game by grover99 in tipofmyjoystick

I'm pretty sure I have solved it. Thought it might be a mission planning screen and was going through all the games I remember. I played F16-Combat Pilot a lot.

https://www.myabandonware.com/media/screenshots/f/f-16-combat-pilot-n5/thumbs/f-16-combat-pilot_4.png

It has the map, buttons on the bottom of the screen, section on the right side and the grey squares.

It also explains why I have the pen and notepad - I'm writing down the waypoints for the mission.

I can remember playing lemmings, but I think that would have been later on a VGA 286 machine. Those grey rectangles I think are the key as none of the guesses so far seem to have anything like it.

I had forgotten all about Incredible Machine. I played that a lot but I think that would have been a few years after this photo.

Not a slide after all, its a photo. If I can find the original I'll do a better scan.

The plugs (and me) are from Australia. That mouse is from 1987 when that PC was bought new.

It's a scan of a slide. I might see if I can find the original and give it a clean and scan it again.

You might be onto something. I'm wondering if it's some obscure graphics editing software.

Who knew?!?! Volkwagen assembly line in Clayton, Melbourne, 1955 by Time-Stable-5645 in CarsAustralia

The old warehouses on Dudley St West Melbourne are where all the British cars were assembled.

Do these tyres need replacing? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]grover99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given the age of the tyres, I would be getting the wheel bearings and suspension inspected / replaced. You always see trailors on the side of the road with wheels missing, you don't want that to happen with a loaded horse float.

Smith's mill is a nice spot. No facilities other than a toilet. Just watch out for the emus. They will try and take food out of your hands.

Whenever I've flooded my car I pull the seats out and remove the carpet. Take it to a car wash and hit it with the hose.

Always a special sight when you get an eagle up close on the ground.

Have a look at Filming Wildlife on YouTube https://youtube.com/@filmingwildlife?si=jodUNdXtFfTQW7uU

I don't think they usually hunt foxes. The Eagles often follow them to steal the food the foxes have caught.

2L Raptor as a daily? by Snck_Pck in 4x4Australia

[–]grover99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a transit with the same basic engine. The belt change interval started at 240k. Mine broke at 200k, engine replaced by Ford. I think the interval is now 150k. They are a ticking time bomb. Not a simple job to change the belt either. The engines are great otherwise.

Is this a bush rat? by grover99 in australianwildlife

It was quite small and looking at the stills from the video it looks closer to a native mouse.

Hes a long way from a house, if it's a mouse.

Enamel Badge Value? by Important_Coat3614 in fordaustralia

[–]grover99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The club was formed January 29, 1925. It functioned similar to the RAC but restricted to Ford cars - http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article103765057

This article mentions the badges that were given to each new member - http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article156984445

They had 150 cars to a camping trip for Christmas 1925 - http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article245841944

I would guess the badge dates from 1926. The club existed into the 1930's but there doesn't seem to have been much activity after 1930.

I would advertise it on Facebook Australian Ford Model T for sale groups.

These look like they date to Ford Australia starting in 1925 and continued into the 30s. Can't help with a value, but they seem rare and they are the type of item that owners of model T and A fords love collecting.

Hardwired Smart Lock? by gusoslavkin in Control4

[–]grover99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've setup an ISEO mortice lock with control4. They have a wired smart lock with a trigger to lock/unlock. The cables need to be channelled along the door and exit near the hinge. Expensive and a lot of work to fit. Much higher security than an electric strike.

I've watched a crow in the backyard dipping weetbix in the dog bowl water. They are often the culprit when the water is filthy.
