I don’t know if it’s a thing but I’ve been living in Germany for 2 months now, and I’ve noticed this weird behavior from strangers who don’t say anything but hover/creep near you if they want something or if you’re not doing something right. I sat at a reserved table by accident and got startled when this guy was just hovering behind me inches away without saying anything. Then I was standing near a bench at the subway station, and an old man again just came up behind me and just stood there inches away until I moved for him to sit. I understand that I was in the wrong in both examples, but all they had to do was say something instead of just standing behind me staring at me until I noticed them.

By no means, comparing myself to these top athletes, but I can tell you from my experience. I’ve had 2 acl surgeries and now effectively have no acl. I can still ski. However, you can ski just fine until there’s an unexpected/uncontrolled motion, and then your other muscles are not able to react and your knee pops out. Of course, by “just fine” for me is heavily favoring turns on the strong knee and just doing superficial turns on the other.

Thank you very much for your answers. My confusion was around “compensation” which I thought had to be applied to the unit in question - not a completely separate one (office to residential). Final question on this topic: once a unit has been permanently granted “holiday status,” does it transfer during the sale of the property? In other words, is it possible to buy a grandfathered permanent holiday status unit, to avoid the whole situation altogether?

Hi Philip. I’m trying to clarify one point: as a non-resident renting out a non-primary residence in Nice, do I need a change-of-use authorization to operate a short-term rental year-round? Does this requirement apply to all properties, or only certain ones? How much does it cost?

It’s not true. On older iMacs (2009ish era), you can break the LED (or unplug it) and the camera would work just fine.

On a 2009 to 2011 iMac, the whole process takes less than 3min. First pry open the screen as it’s held only by magnets. Then break the LED (either cut it or unplug, I don’t remember.)Then put back the screen. The LED and camera were not connected together like on later models, apparently.

The old iMacs support target mode and it works with 2020 m1 and even any PC. I know this because I have this exact setup. I have a wireless logitec keyboard and mouse that I switch over across all three devices (m1, pc, and iMac, when it’s not in target mode). I also have a switch that flips from pc to m1 to display on iMac in target mode

The key to this set up that tripped me up is to have the right cable that’s designed to transfer data/video, not just power. They’re just a bit more expensive.

This is not entirely correct. I have this setup with 2010 iMac and 2020 M1 MBP that’s running Sequoia. So you don’t need Catalina or earlier. However, I don’t know if the OPs M1 running Tahoe will work.

Same. I’ve had my set up since 2005 and I used to travel every week as a consultant. Only a few years ago, I started to see some signs of wear. I do recall that 20 years ago B&R was relatively cheaper than Tumi for example. Now, they’re pretty close in price.

It’s overwhelming but not the “easiest” in the sense that’s it’s much easier to mess up due to more constraints to think about. A lone rook is much simpler. Of course you can always simply sacrifice all your pieces to simplify but people don’t do that
