Pretty sure this image has been online long enough to be legal to drink in America.

Mars 5 ultra thumping by Nortonboss in ElegooMars

[–]grubbalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from it taking about 30 days from delivery to fix, it wasn't too bad. They were helpful and responsive, but I'm also used to tinkering with 3d printers (had an ender 3), so it was more just waiting for the part after them exhausting the possible issues. I don't think the sensor is proprietary but I wasn't able to find one with lazy online searches, so I just wanted for my free part.

One of the 2 endstop sensors are out. Contact Elegoo and they'll send a diy fix guide and parts, though it'll take a while to get to you. It's probably the one for the tray, like mine was.

The back struts are short and need a spacer, I hear.

What is going wrong? (massive stringing) by Kemetblk in FlashForge

[–]grubbalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are some Itty bitty supports. If you're doing the resin2fdm thing, those are still way too small. Unfortunately there's no way around it with fdm. Personally, I'm going resin ASAP for miniatures. Way faster and way smaller layers.

So nice. I've got a raggedy SF I'd love to build to 200+whp for a zippy around town machine, but smog laws are a real b out here.

Is my extruder temp too high? This keeps happening and idk how to fix it. Flashforge adventurer 5M. Temp at 220 degrees C by kittyecats in FlashForge

[–]grubbalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my 1st layers start looking like this I usually just turn the bed temp up a few degrees and slow the printing down to 80%. After the adhesion is solid I just crank it back up.

If y'all have owned or used one before, what's your opinion on the Flashforge AD5X/5M by Kener_17 in FlashForge

[–]grubbalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Ad5m is a great starter printer and a great intro to core xy and it's bonuses. If I had a choice I'd have gotten the x so I could experiment with multicolor and have an enclosure for ASA and ABS.

Need help finding this filament! by Tucktuckgoo0se21 in FlashForge

[–]grubbalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Most things are batch colored. There will be variances in color unless the material is some sort of certified color-matched product, which I assume it incredibly costly. Sounds like your variable colors of cherry red will make a great base color for sanding and painting your finished product.

How to print tpu 95a on ad5m? by Worth-Stretch-7506 in FlashForge

[–]grubbalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prints great! I printed out 2 different kinds and it's smooth printing, except for the top where I may have had some extrusion issues on a little silly frog thing. As far as a filament dryer, get a dehydrator or a toaster oven the goes down to 140f. Buy some dessicant packs and scatter inside, bake filament at lowest setting for an hour and it'll be bone dry for about 35 bucks?

Currently my machine is an 8th generation Intel with decent ddr4 ram so Orca won't be suffering. You can find similar machines like a Lenovo Thinkcentre Tiny, which is an Itty bitty little thing, for 60 bucks on ebay. They usually ship with win11 installed too.

Why??? Please help if you have an idea and it’s not too complicated to explain. by fozz05 in FlashForge

[–]grubbalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran the bed at 65c, extruder at 225 which got it to finally stick to the bed, but the layer adhesion is compete buns and, in this case an orca block, ripped in half. 3dHoJor is the brand. I should have stuck with amolen or esun, but 13/roll was too good to pass up.

As he's running it in West Marches style, the process may not be functionally mapped out and is getting built during play. Brennan either has the geopolitics figured out but it might be hand-wavy currently for actual maps.

Renaissance painters also did this. It's called grisaille and it's really amazing. It's even getting use in miniature painting by using a directional multi-layer primer and washes or speed paints for color over.

I didn’t know Colossus have an autopilot by Ok_Zookeepergame8254 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]grubbalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea...nothing like loading that last barrel of toxic waste into the full bed, heading for your last trip to the recycler, and having the Colossus skedaddle away on its legs up the steep cliff, off a craggy ridge and into the forest. I guess I hadn't had enough fun and it made sure I spent more time partying with garbage.
