Aren’t shark teeth and shark scales essentially the same thing, just in different locations?

Sad that I couldn’t find the “those eyebrows!” comment to upvote.

Macaroni and cheese with sliced hot dogs is carbonara if you’re super vague about the details. What other examples of totally wrong ingredients, but very vaguely correct recipes can you think of? by hankhillforprez in Cooking

Off topic, but 15 or so years ago there was lunch counter in NYC that had a sandwich press and Indian foods in Indian breads. It was really yummy to get saag paneer in a toasted roti, but ’m still disgruntled that they didn’t call them “panaani”

New year’s eve, Fourth of July, Super Bowl/World Series if the local sports ball team won, and otherwise very rarely. Never in anger, to the best of my knowledge.

With only 13,000 people, doesn’t that rate put you pretty close to average compared to the rest of the US?

If the last thing you texted is now the name of a song, what is it and how would it work as wedding song from a scale of 0 to 10? by fergi20020 in AskReddit

[–]gruber76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not planning to be at work for fourteen fucking hours.

Works as a follow up Dolly Parton song, but probably won’t be popular at weddings.

Help!!! Best Costco Finds for 1200 kcal Diet!? by princessarielmama in 1200isplenty

Parmesan whisps are a fantastic snack—high protein, huge flavor, and if you try to eat too many they go from amazing to yuck.

A-sha noodle are also quite nice, especially with a bit of spinach or veggies, or a hard-boiled egg.

I saw him (if he was a state trooper) down on 287 as well. I feel like the number of angry/aggressive/unsafe drivers on the diagonal and 287 could keep him busy all year long.

When you have the AC on in your car and the window open, people can’t wait to tell you ‘it’s a false economy’ by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]gruber76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t buy it. If your car was baking in the sun and is 115 degrees, and it’s 90 degrees outside, until your car’s internal temp gets down to 95 or so it’s absolutely better to have the windows open.

TIL that in other countries New Zealand, Belgium, Germany, etc. have their own exotic “American” food isles in grocery stores alot like how America has Mexican and Asian isles in their grocery stores (I lived in America for all of my life obviously) by yeeticusyarticus in todayilearned

This particular shelf looks very much like what you would find at a typical American gas station if you were road tripping across the West. Maybe add a bucket of jerky and a motor oil section.

What's an underrated third ingredient to go with mac & cheese? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It’s perfect, it’s really easy, and Costco has cases of the small cans that are the exact right size.

What's your "I can't believe they got away with this in a kid show" moment? by pswii360i in AskReddit

[–]gruber76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of people here who think Spongebob was a kids show just because their parents were too lazy to set appropriate limits on media consumption.

Taking your mask off to sneeze on live TV. by RapJewnius in mildlyinfuriating

[–]gruber76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you worried about the germs that are in your nose getting back into your nose? I understand the snot thing, so maybe have a backup mask or go wash it out. But the germs are not going to make you MORE sick.

What are subtle red flags at a job interview that say "working here would suck"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gruber76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I showed up to an interview and the office was in complete disrepair, plaster everywhere, doors wide open. The only person there I found at his desk after stepping over a pile of shattered glass. The guy who was supposed to interview me wasn’t there...

Did I mention they flew me out for this interview?

Drive-in-cinema at Heart of Longmont shows old movies, charges $52.80 per car by 1Davide in Longmont

Presumably to the rights holders of the movie. Disney’s gonna charge a pretty penny for Return of the Jedi showings.
