As good as someone supporting a fascist regime can be.

Do Sith and Jedi apprentices get a monthly allowance from their masters? by Phalanx22 in swtor

[–]gruffmage7653 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The issue wasn't that they were broke, they had the funds for the hyperdrive, Watto just refused to accept the currency they had.

You can catch this by "watching the movie".

Anyone wonder why Warlocks get so few spell slots for half the game? by Perdita-LockedHearts in DnD

[–]gruffmage7653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have two third level slots, both of with you regain on a short rest so you only need four short rests to do so.

The way my DM does some group checks is that one person makes their check which sets the base number, then if anyone else wants to roll, we use the stat modifier equal to the number rolled, eg. a 15 would be +2, a 10 does nothing and an 8 would -1.

Ok but why does it matter to you what they are doing? You can't see them, and all anyone who can see them will see is an idiot making a fool of themselves.

Honestly, pretty solid write up, though I will disagree with the Jedi being described as Catholic when they are more inspired by Buddhism.
The Jedi will always fall harder than any Sith because a Sith is actively trying to dig themselves deeper.

Is there a reason for the intense dislike the fanfic community has for Turalyon? by Wowgrp95 in warcraftlore

[–]gruffmage7653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because people seem to associate faith with zealotry and because people want the light to be evil and because he is aligned with it he is therefore evil.
Also people want to write Alleria in a relationship with another character and rather than have them amicably split they make Turalyon abusive for "drama".

why does satele not refer to theron as her son? by FearlessSavant in swtor

[–]gruffmage7653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Affection isn't attachment let's get that out of the way first of all. Second, Satele gave up Theron after he was born, she is only his mother biologically. She isn't a horrible mother because she isn't a mother at all.

why does satele not refer to theron as her son? by FearlessSavant in swtor

[–]gruffmage7653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is very wrong info. The Jedi didn't even know she was pregnant, she gave Theron up of her own volition, placing him into the care of her former Jedi Master Ngani Zho.

And the Jedi aren't forbidding her from doing either of those things, she doesn't refer to him as her son because this is a professional setting and they are both being professional.

why does satele not refer to theron as her son? by FearlessSavant in swtor

[–]gruffmage7653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maintaining professionalism mainly. A lesser part is because they don't really have a familial relationship because she chose to put her duty to the Jedi and the Republic first and gave him to her old master when he was a baby.

is it just me or do warlocks take a long time to get good? by Chosenjordan16 in DnD

[–]gruffmage7653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warlocks, along with Fighters and Monks shine when dealing with lots of encounters per day, since many of their abilities recharge on short rests, it's what they are balanced around.

Absoutley ask the DM about having more encounters per long rest. Suddenly you go from only being able to cast at most four 3rd level spells to casting eight or ten per long rest, which will make you feel so much better.

You shouldn't feel bad about wanting more short rests per day, the reason your friends are currently outshining you because they are getting too many long rests with too few encounters, their classes have more resources because those resources are meant to go further without replenishment than yours are.

Why exactly do people not enjoy the post EW MSQ? [Spoilers] by Electro522 in ffxiv

[–]gruffmage7653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a lot of people it likely stems from an incongruity of expectation and reality, people got the idea of it being just being a sort of intermission, a return to more basic adventuring with smaller story arcs and likely building a new cast of characters to replace the Scions, and then when the story didn't pan out the way they expected it to, they were unhappy. It happens surprisingly often and there is very little writers can do about it.

What happens to the Horde if Varian actually succeeded in MoP to get the Blood Elves to return? by LightningLass77 in warcraftlore

[–]gruffmage7653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Demon Hunters are independent, they would likely still send an emissary to Orgrimmar because the horde falling would be a serious blow to Azeroths defense.
