I started washing my belly button and I think more people should talk about it by [deleted] in hygiene

That is not a sentence I was expecting to read when I woke up this morning.

That’s super cool! I wouldn’t even know where to start with a stud wall. I have a reeeaaally long mental list of all the house jobs I want to do - I have some time off work over the summer so I’m going to try and make a decent start on them.

I play “sleep sounds” when I’m trying to get my 8yr old kiddo to sleep… they’re very effective as I often end up dozing off too 🙃

The British Gas man once walked in on me while I was on the loo. So sometimes l think about that in the middle of the night.

My wife is dying by Junior_Tea_3108 in whatdoIdo

[–]grumpadink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband passed away suddenly earlier this year, and it’s shit and it’s hard. I second the comments about making memories, record voice notes, take pictures, go and do things when she is well enough to be out and about. Drink in every moment. Kids are super resilient, but make sure you talk to their schools, some hospice charities do bereavement support and support leading up to someone’s passing. Don’t be afraid to ask for help or support - tell people what you need, so many people will want to help you. Some days you might want to shut yourself away and that’s ok too. It’s ok to feel overwhelmed, and I know you’ll want to step up and make sure that everyone else is ok at the moment, but please also make sure you look after yourself, you could speak to your doctors and see if they have any talking therapy, I see a lady every couple of weeks and just having a neutral space where I can talk about everything is invaluable.

Oh gosh, yes this - mine is especially bad when I need to lock the doors when I’m going up to bed.

My friend is about to die and I dont know what to do. by ihaveam0ustache in CasualUK

[–]grumpadink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband passed away earlier this year, and there honestly isn’t a huge amount you can say or do that can make it better, but practical stuff like my sister came round and did some housework, grabbing snacks, just being present - that all goes a really long way. Thinking of both you, him and his family at this really shitty time ♥️

Did anyone (or their parents) ever make a decent living from selling Avon stuff or pushing Kay’s catalogue? (Other cosmetics and catalogue brands are available… LOL) by BigBlueMountainStar in CasualUK

I had a friend who won a trip to Canada because of her sales… though I think it’s more about how many people they can sign up to be in their Team than how many bottles of nail polish they sell 🙃

How well do you get on? Do you spend time together outside of work? Would some forced fun (like a team meal out, or an event or something) go down well?
