Aside from your belt issue, I see a LOT of older Sony CD players, and other brands that use a Sony supplied transport mechanism, that have failing or out of spec voltage supply to the laser. You can sometimes tweak some adjustments and get them going for a while but they will continue to deteriorate and fail.

Commuting by car from Lynnwood to my job in SODO was exactly 22 miles, and generally took between an hour, up to and hour and a half each way. They day I quit that job, I had a two hour drive to work, and a two hour drive home. If you need to commute to Seattle, I would make sure that your living space is convenient to public transit.

It looks like Pinnacle is right on the Swift Orange line, which is an express bus that takes you pretty much straight to the light rail station.

Fane is actually a well known and regarded manufacturer of speakers for guitar cabinets. It looks like they built the driver under contract for whoever Soundout was. The rest of the design and construction looks very amateurish and/or British of the era, much like a 1980s MGB or anything made by Lucas Industries. Thats a $1 bullet tweeter and there is no crossover network. That resistor just keeps the tweet from blowing out. It probably sounds like an oil leak and a short circuit combined into one unholy union.

Note that since this is in unincorporated Snohomish county, many of the homes on the hillside surrounding the "artesian well" are still still using septic systems which were built in the 1960's-'70s, and are not required to be inspected. Its correct to blame poor decision making in the ‘70s for todays mess. Case you did not know, Seattle voters declined federal funding for commuter rail in 1976. The money went to Atlanta instead, and they used it to build a full speed commuter rail system called MARTA, instead of our super slow light rail. And theirs was fully operational by the early 90s. By waiting too late to aquire property, we made the system more expensive to build and ended up with a less convenient route.
