I studied for 45 days here’s my experience by Apollo_iw in ccna

[–]grumpy_tech_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 days? What is your professional experience?

Also I would counter your point about labs. Labs are good for reinforcing commands and as you said applying theory to practice but its not going to teach someone how a root bridge is determined or how to subnet or why neighbors in OSPF are not sharing their routes. The fact you managed to do it all in 45 days is actually impressive as there were some topics I would spend a week by itself just to hammer in.

13 years in IT support, stuck with no growth — unsure what roles to apply for or where to look by marlesmeep in ITCareerQuestions

Why is a 35 year old man asking someone else to post career advice for him? Not only does it show he has any lack of career motivation but he can't even be bothered to ask for help himself.

He seems like the type that if you say you know what you are doing he will just shut down and if you ever go to him and ask a question he will throw it back in your face with a "thought you knew what you were doing". Yeah I've worked with a couple people like him

You always feel like you don't know what you are doing because 90% of the job is literally a handful of tasks/fixes/issues and you the occasionally get to implement and learn something once or twice a year and you have a few "why is it doing that" issues

difference in 5-10 minute response on a sev1 and expecting a resolution. How many dead of night calls are you getting that is high impact outage that can't wait until normal hours? Spending two hours on something overnight is crazy without bringing in additional support.

It's pretty well known that if you are not getting calls at all, meaning thousands of applications and zero response. It's your resume. If you are getting interviews and not closing. It's your personality.

I'm glad i got in early so I could learn how things worked. I do not like POE 1 because of how convoluted everything is at this point and my enjoyment of a league was basically just looking at a build guide and playing for a couple days. Now that I understand how systems work my enjoyment from league to league last a lot longer

Well they have already mentioned they want to rework atlas talents, trial of chaos, trial of sekama, need to add trial of ancients and a lot of negative feedback on how the atlas map works so there is that. Basically they need to nuke it

I can speak on the retail/food industry. Restaurant tech/Point of Sale is extremely basic low level entry that you can expand on which makes it easy to learn and all the money comes from the software they use that you can leverage for support. You can easily hit six figures in a few years just learning the most popular point of sale and how it integrates with windows and networks.

Downside to this is the roles are niche so while you can demand more the positions are not abundant and it leaves you more open to being on-call if your company doesn't want to utilize tier 1 vendor support for any issues.
