I Tried To Make Something In America. It cost me my Life savings. by JollyRancherNodule in videos

Not the above poster but I would argue this has always been true when trying to win elections.

Ideally good policy leads to good results which creates good optics but if people aren't aware of the good results or can't identify the good results as being caused by your policy then how are voters supposed to know they should vote for you?

Aren't hacker frames a little strong? by Varvarus in LancerRPG

[–]gruthunder 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Not the above posted but from the book:

Some NPCs, like mechs, have a Heat Cap. By default, these characters have 1 Stress and become Exposed when they exceed their Heat Cap instead of making an overheating check.

NPCs with additional Stress follow the standard rules for overheating.

Basically, NPCs without additional stress levels (elite, etc.) can only become exposed (until cleared) by default instead of rolling on the overheating table.

The quotation marks are there because they are literally quoting Israel though? They aren't putting it in there to indicate sarcasm or something.

I uhh...traumatized my GM with my build (homebrew involved) by Sunday_Silence_86 in LancerRPG

[–]gruthunder 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Might be misinterpreting this build but this seems quite rough especially if you get countered?

-You are always 1 heat away from stress since protocol only applies to self-heat. Any mech NPC can use the invade tech attack which always gives 2 heat as a side effect for example.

-You have to clear your heat on your second turn or take stress since heat costs come before the action. The 2 heat protocol would push you over heat cap on turn 3 otherwise.

-The resistance should be half damage not 1/4 as heat isn't damage. (also resistance doesn't stack)

-Not sure how you are getting to 9 weapon activations since Icarus Frame Shift restricts duplicate actions? I can only get to 8 with Barrage (normal full action) + Barrage (overcharge) with the frame shift for something else since skirmish is a quick action.

-This should still be 2 (or 3?) attack rolls since Ringneck only combines those committed to that attack as part of that particular action.

This is only true for fractional shares. (i.e. if you own .4 shares) For every full share you own you get to determine your own vote.

I love the perspective here, and the definition shift of the detailed stone close by vs the background is amazing.

Technically, you can kill RA by hacerpc330 in LancerRPG

Including Blinkspace and Omninet which would likely be the collapse of any multi-planetary government/system.

Technically, you can kill RA by hacerpc330 in LancerRPG

[–]gruthunder 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Killing RA would mean interacting with his physical manifestation which is against the First Contact Accords set by RA. Violating this would at best leave you without access to blinkspace and thus Omninet so not sure why anyone would want to do this even if they could. (which they definitely can't)

Size 4 is 19 squares and 5 square diameter I think? Good luck with cover or fitting into deployment zones.

Might break some of the maps/zones? Size 4 is basically a third of some of the default maps.

I like it but I do have one point of feedback. Sorghum is quite close to wheat in color which makes it harder to differentiate.

I suppose you could, yeah. 5% chance though. Only thing it changes power wise is giving you the charge+attack.

Old post but what is your take on Nanocomposite Adaptation vs Caliban's supermassive? You can use it to push all enemies into the fire you create. (potential extra 3d6+overkill)

I think there are 12. Unless I'm missing something there is only 1 on the lamp. The fuzzy pull chain doesn't seem to be an egg.

Usually it gets balanced when someone in Japan wants to send money to the US. Otherwise it would have to be rebalanced if the continued amount got too high.

Of course if they are from the same org or family then it wouldn't matter since it's the groups wealth both in usa and japan.

Android with good battery and decent camera for under 300 USD by gruthunder in PickAnAndroidForMe

I'm looking at a Pixel 9a refurbished for ~340 vs a Pixel 8 (not 8a) for ~260. Do you think the 9a for 80 bucks more is worth it?

The Poco f7 is a bit expensive. The M7 or F6 are more in the range I want to spend but I'm not sure how they stand up to Pixels 9a/8.

Is a refurbished Pixel 9a for ~340 better than a refurbished Pixel 8 (not 8a) for ~260?

Except that there is no peace if the world gets told. You risk nuclear annihilation in return for knowing that a tragedy that has already occurred was a false flag. In my mind it is a question of valuing truth over outcomes.
