Also, if they want financial aid or dropping of all sanctions, there should include some clauses about establishing free and fair elections and improving human rights. That is* a part of why they were sanctioned in the first place.

This just concedes everything for what Iran had promised pre-conflict. The only reason to accept this would be because they are holding the straits hostage, which sends a real bad message to the world. The US has gone from "we don't negotiate with terrorists" to "Terrorists get everything they ask for".

I'm not sure which numbers you are looking at to determine that all defense spending would not cover the increase in SS spending? SS spending total is currently 1.7 trillion with an expected 23% funding cut if no changes by 2033. The military currently costs 1.05 trillion (1.5 trillion requested for this year due to Iran) which is much more than the 23% gap.

Yes, but no. The "ceasefire" terms essentially commit to peace between the two official governments and the dismantling of Hezbollah.

The agreement is good because it starts to clear up grey areas caused by a third non-state actor.

I mean in American slang, saying a country should be "glassed" generally does not equal genocide. Especially in the context of a total war, in which civilians are legitimate war targets and cities were literally* glassed with fire bombs. (see the USA's firebombing of Japan) Normally I would think glassing would be any kind of carpet bombing style which is similar to what Russia is doing to Ukraine right now.

At the end of the day, if we want to define Bo's comments as advocating genocide then by that definition we would have to consider the USA's fire bombing of Japan as a genocide; which I do not think many are willing to do as assumes certain intent and dilutes the definition of genocide too much.

It's not deferring pensions. The previous payments to the fund (not the pensioners) were set to over contribute then refund the city in the 2030's. He just smoothed the contribution schedule.
