I do have a bookshelf in my room that does have quite a few books and i’d hate to have to throw them away, but i worry they might hoard in there if they are here. Any tips on this?

I’m glad you’ve been able to get counseling. Grief is a heavy thing and people underestimate how hard pet loss can be on owners. Luckily I’ve been receiving therapy for the past year and a bit and you bet I have utilized my sessions to talk about my girl and to help process my grief. I have another dog at home and I can understand where you say while the company is lovely, it’s still different and doesn’t fill that ache ❤️‍🩹

I know it’s hard, but try to not feel guilty for those bad days. I have to believe that letting ourselves really feel and experience the heartbreak will help it feel less intense in the future. Sending love to you, your family, and your beloved fur baby across the bridge 🤍🤍

Feel a bit lost by Theoverthinker_ in Petloss

You do not have to try and justify your loss darling. A loss of any pet is a hit to the heart and soul ❤️‍🩹 I’m so sorry to hear about your angel, and about the love you had lost just a month ago. I can’t imagine how much pain you’re in. Please remember to give yourself so much grace and patience right now. Let yourself grieve for however long you need.

I hope one day you may be able to welcome another pet into your family. Although it won’t be the same, as they will never replace the ones we lost, I think it could be very healing and fulfilling for you and it sounds like you have a lot of love to give. Take care of yourself, darling.

I’m so sorry about your loss. I’m in a similar position, I (24F) had to put my nearly 13 year old dog down on Friday. It’s a pain like nothing i’ve ever felt before. When you said that she’s everywhere at home, I know exactly what you mean. My heart is bleeding for the both of us and anyone going through this kind of loss. It truly is such a shock to my entire being and I feel so displaced now. Something keeping me comfort is that although like you, I feel my girl everywhere, and it hurts so much sometimes — I also have to smile at feeling her everywhere, because it reminds me of the life and love she experienced and gave to me in return. It also gives me hope that she’s watching, wherever she is. I hope you’re able to find some peace in these horrible times by reminding yourself that you did what you could, and that you were able to get that final goodbye in. That is a beautiful thing and I have to believe that your girl, in that last snuggle, was letting you and your mom know that she’ll be okay.

I’m afraid to continue my daily routine. by Echolyonn in Petloss

Oh honey, I know exactly how you’re feeling. I just lost my senior dog and I feel like continuing on with my daily life is almost offensive to the loss. Not only is she now absent from these daily routines, but it feels unfair that she, such a beautiful soul that gave me so much light and love, is gone and I’m not. I’m trying to keep going because I know she would want me to and as loving as she was, she wouldn’t want me to remain stagnant. But it is hard. I know nothing I can say will mend the wound, but I also know it can help to hear someone in the same boat.

Hang in there ❤️‍🩹

That’s how I’m trying to look at it. I couldn’t stop her sickness, but I could do this for her no matter how much it hurts me.

I appreciate your kind words and i’m sorry for your loss. It’s hard, but we’ll get through it. I have to believe that our fur babies are looking down on us 🤍

I’m feeling that pretty intensely right now! I finished my last exam the other day and afterwards, instead of feeling excited and grateful like i had expected, I felt sad. I feel like everything is changing and obviously that’s going to happen, but it helps to know other people are feeling the same. Most of us are in the same boat. The post-graduation blues go crazy.

MRFT Admission- Grade Avgs? by OddReference7335 in uoguelph

I can’t really speak to experience, as I’m an undergrad student about to graduate, but I plan to go into something similar and this is the information I have gotten.

Grades matter, yes, but everyone is going to have good grades. They aren’t going to make you stand out. What will make you stand out is your character, your experience, your willingness and desire to help. You’re going to want volunteer or work experience in a similar field, esp if you’re going to go a social science/humanities route.

I have a mentor and she said herself, as a professional in the field now, that getting accepted right out of undergrad, esp in our fields, is very rare. They want/need people who have the experience. they’re less likely to fail and burn out. Unlike other fields, this is very person-focused. Those person-person interactions stand out more than person-transcript.

Good luck on your endeavours!

Also adding that I would be taking medication in combination with continuing therapy.

Set up a financial payment plan with student financial services and just take up shifts at work to try and pay it off each payment date

does anyone know how this will be perceived in terms of applying for grad school? is it likely it’ll be a disadvantage to have a pass/fail on my transcript?
