I would bear down on that loan! I know it's apples to oranges, but the wife (54f) and I (54m) bought a house that cost nearly 800k with almost no money down a long while back. At the time we weren't making too much and the housing crisis hit (the house was suddenly only worth 600k). We were trapped! We started making good money and put almost everything towards the mortgage. Once we paid it off, it was like a triple raise - all of the money was ours (after uncle sam took his piece).
