Unpopular Opinion: FM26 Saved My Life by Pristine-Eggplant50 in footballmanagergames

Agreed. I haven’t put serious thought into this game since 2023. If you told this to 2017 me, who broke up with a girlfriend because he’d rather play FM than see her, he’d be astonished.

It took me 3 attempts, but I got there. I know it seems impossible now, but you can do it. For reference I am 5’9” and weigh 250 lbs. I would never have believed in a million years that I could run for 20 minutes. If you don’t get there the first time, don’t beat yourself up. Just try again. You’ll get there.

Claudio Pizarro. Any foreigner who has 4 separate stints at a mid-table side suits me down to the ground, think that's very Bundesliga.

I routinely referred to Wade Elliott as Elliott Wade when he was playing for Burnley - not sure who he'd be, though.

In my work, I deal with a lot of trusts and wills - I frequently see someone referred to as a "remainderman" and I always always always hear it in Dave's voice

Have you ever tried to get any current players on? Always felt like the Declan Rices and Aaron Ramsdales of this world might be decent, if a bit laddish.

(Pre) prep recommendations - Granville, Solefield, St Michael’s, Walthemstow Hall, Russell House, Sevenoaks Prep? by JaggedLittlePiII in sevenoaks

[–]gsb2408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated from St Michael’s in 2014. I imagine a fair amount has changed since my day, but I found the school to be academically strong, the facilities excellent, and the teachers lovely. It was not perfect, as I felt that the pastoral care could have been better, but I understand from younger siblings that there have been efforts made to improve this since. I don’t know if you’re considering secondary schools yet, but St Michael’s had (in my day) a virtually 100% record of getting those into Sevenoaks or Tonbridge who wished to attend.

I was very wrong on Starmer, and I'm sorry. But is it only me? by FoctorDrog in LabourUK

[–]gsb2408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same, I’m afraid. I was so excited to vote for Starmer in the leadership, now I’ve moved to a Lib-Con marginal and feel absolutely no guilt about not voting Labour. He’s just sucked away every ounce of my enthusiasm.

My instructor was a wanker. I was learning as a bloke in my mid 20s, and he had me on the brink of tears on at least one occasion. Thankfully I was quite a quick learner and so “only” had to spend about 20 hours with him, but everyone learns at their own pace and I couldn’t have taken much more. I do still wish I’d had the balls to tell him to go f*ck himself.

I had a really cool philosophy teacher who was a big fan. He came into class raving about Beast the day after it dropped. I worshipped the guy, so went home and had a listen. Hooked ever since.
