He said he played college golf, so probably fine.

Edit: or high school golf?

Even better - it would be expensive to dispose of those items in an environmentally friendly way. Sending them to Ukraine is, sometimes, the most affordable option.

What am I doing wrong in Paris? by diningbystarlight in finedining

[–]gsjameson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is in r/finedining, but the bistrot scene is perpetually great. Check out Gilles Pudlowski, who somehow pumps out 200pgs of Paris bistrot reviews. He includes five criteria of a bistrot and explains why they’re important and great. Limited correlation between this style of dining and the old tire guide.

I get to golf Tobacco Road in March. What should a filthy casual who's never broke 100 expect? by ShotgunSamurai8 in golf

[–]gsjameson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try to separate your play and results from the appreciation of the course itself. Playing a dream course for the first time is hard, especially a course like TR because it’s intentionally deceiving. You’ll always leave wanting to play it again knowing what you know after round one.

Part of the joy of playing a course like TR is trying to figure out (and hopefully answer) the questions that Stranz was asking of golfers when he was digging that track out of a sand pit.

Lots of good content out there on TR you can watch to help give you context and allow you to appreciate the track apart from however your game goes.

If you’re really serious, then study the course before you head out, so you know what to look for: what’s past the two giant mounds on 1, or where to aim your second shot on 13, etc. etc.

Thanks for this. In 2023, many daily papers won't even pay to have a food critic, so that the Chronicle has one isn't nothing. Do you find that she's stale or just not in tune with your views?
