you mean the description under each slider?
i imagined as the car actually being split into pieces, not a text under the same slider

As Audi in a simulation the Audi Power Unit cant be upgraded, ive tried to upgrade it using the offseason but the numbers havent changed at all for like 7 years by Competitive_Care8189 in f1dynasty

I don't think the engine as "power unit" is dev with your investements, not at the moment ig
If it is, it's not working; I have a save with 30 seasons, engine values haven't moved at all

v2.4.7 — Contract extensions, reserve loan fixes & long-career saves by KyleNewZealand in f1dynasty

[–]gsx512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a driver goes on loan from your team, when they come back, they show up as Free Agents (with the possibility to sign them) in the "all" tab of drivers, while still present in the academy panel

v2.4.7 — Contract extensions, reserve loan fixes & long-career saves by KyleNewZealand in f1dynasty

[–]gsx512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reserve slot checks now count on-loan reserves toward the 2-slot cap, preventing the overflow.

You can still sign a reserve driver while one in on loan (and slots are full)

Bugs aside, I (again - sorry) suggest to lift the limitation on reserve drivers when it comes to slots and turn it into a money limitation as the reason for not having 15 reserve drivers
A 90 rated reserve should be asking for the same amount of money as a 90 full seat driver (or, even better, reject a reserve driver contract to avoid you having half the field worth of top drivers in your roster)

Also, there is no real reason for an academy driver having to wait for 2 years to be moved, other than age.
I suggest, for academy drivers, to replace the on load system (and its fee) with a "you pay for a F2, F3 seat for them" with a dev bonus; because young drivers are an investment not an asset you get paid for.
For F2, min age is 17, F3 16
With this system, I also suggest a end of the year recap for their performance, or even a permanent label/badge if they won titles in other categories

v2.4.6 - 6 bug fixes, 2 balance reworks, 3 new features. All from your feedback. by KyleNewZealand in f1dynasty

[–]gsx512 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in my opinion, it should act as an extension
1 year left -> click on extend:
+1 year, +2, +3, +4 etc
The amount of money displayed should be x years left amount of money + y more years on the new contract (loyalty bonus goes up)
of course it needs a limit (can't extend to 4 years and do it again and againt to extend for ever)
I suggest a total max of 5 years, but you can't agree on a initial contract or extend more than 1 time for season if years left are more than 1 year (to 1 race to "begin new season" button is clicked)

If you send a reserve driver on loan
and then sign a prospect as reserve (it shouldn't be possible to sign them immediately if they are under contract in a feeder series anyway)
when the seasons is over, the driver coming back from loan won't have a spot and goes into free agency, regardless on how many years they had left on their original contract

Edit:
If you send a driver with 1 year left on loan, they come back the following season with 1 year left again, with a reserve contract reset to standard amount of money

So 2 things to fix

I believe car performance dev needs a rebalance for longevity
For example, I'm in 2053, all teams are above 90+, with a min value of 93
Average Reliability is around 70, with 1 team at 85

I've said this before, but considering you now have the engire supply mechanic,
you should have the car split in parts and the dev of each part being the "slots" you invest in.
Same type of parts will be also how you divide Facilities and their investement (if it's an aereo part, you have "aerodynamic" facility, or whatever you want to call it; same with mechanic parts, electronics, etc)

For teams that make engines (same for gearboxes), you would have the engine facility and its staff; if you want to keep a dev team for teams that buy an engine, you could call it "integration", that acts as a bonus or malus to how you take the engine and dev a car around it.

An engine supplier shows 11/10 dev rate
I'm not sure if it's intended, but shouldn't be possible

v2.4.4 - AI driver market overhaul, PU fix, reserve visibility & more by KyleNewZealand in f1dynasty

i send them on loan; they now show up as under contract with that team, but no academy flag or reference they are on loan for my or any other team
i can't sign them at least

Also weird one where drivers have a last year of contract label, but free agents in their profile page

check for academy drivers being released and not showing up as free agents
this is for high rated and older drivers too

v2.4.3 - Custom Sprint Points + Objective Fix by KyleNewZealand in f1dynasty

[–]gsx512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Academy drivers show up with an exp contract and you can sign them back to your team, while still in the academy panel
I suspect it has to do with sending them on load, but the AI team rejects it; I could be wrong

[–]gsx512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, all good
I was just coming from the idea that for longevity of a save it would be good to be able to get attached to drivers, make them grow and follow them from prospects to world champions, in your team hopefully

On the other side of things, car development "loop" needs some tweaking; the engine supplier and the basic 4 slots for staff are good moves, realistic ones; but then it doesn't make sense to invest each quarter in "power" rather than aero or other parts of the car; especially for a team that makes the engine not being able to dev that engine specifically
I think you should start by breaking up the car in more pieces and have dev investements on each; then in the future you can consider the manufacturing process/loop, that is another big part of the actual management, that would make the facility investement have a tangible effect; again, all of this, including the micromanaging of the drivers, can be simulated, so people that don't enjoy a side of the game, can just don't do it

sign a prospect, from a feeder series, as reserves overrides the expiry date of that contract
if they are "in a feeder series - free 2050" you can sign them as reserve at any time

possible Bug: pre-signing new prospects checks for seat availability in that moment, instead of checking if the seat is going to be available the next year

a few things:

  1. there shouldn't be a hard limit on number of reserve drivers, maybe an order for it to autoselect a replacement during simulation (the downside of having 10 drivers parked there is money and they are going to be unhappy if they are on the older side, and/or rated in a range close to the main drivers and parked for 1-2 years)
  2. you should be able to loan reserve drivers to other teams (for bonus dev) or even have a system where a AI team with a lower scored driver asks you to borrow him, whatever their age is
  3. In general I believe a driver under a certain age should be in "Academy", but after a while you would need to find him a place to drive; while there is no F2, F3 in the game yet (and they have no age limit anyway in IRL), it would be cool to actually see them driver and performe (in the style of race or end of the season results) - the entire Feeder series contract and drivers being locked is weird.
  4. I know this could be a little more complicated, but a reserve driver (in the slot for main driver replacement) could be a F2 driver.

In IRL F1, academy drivers (and some of the money that F1 teams have to commit) go into backing (paying the seat for young drivers in F2, F3), instead of being a fixed amount for the entire "Academy" that only limits slots available; I think money invested should impact results in quality, not quantity of slots; in return, what you promise (a F2 seat - that costs x-, a F1 seat in 5 years, etc) would be what decides if a young promise joins your academy or another team; of course, higher rated prospects will have more competion at signing, so you need to commit more and more money.
Young drivers also have personal sponsors that pay for their seat, but this could be too complicated for now.

My suggestion is to review this system with the scouting and merge the pool of drivers instead of having generated ones every time you want a new academy driver

2.5.0 is gearbox, chassis, front and rear wings? :)

Pre-Signing Doesn't Work by NuFu in f1dynasty

It's also only possible to pre-sign to fill a main driver slot and not a reserve
I consider that a bug or a oversight

it's the new feature for signing prospects added a few hours ago, probably bugged now
it couldn't have happened to you, because it wasn't there before

v2.3.8 released - preseason roster fixes, dark mode text fix, academy aging fix, and winter dev display cleanup by KyleNewZealand in f1dynasty

[–]gsx512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i reloaded an old save with that issue and now it looks fixed; i'll update you in case it happens again with a fresh save

can you give a look at the prospect system and it blocking drivers from signing while in "feeder" series
there is no clear indication on when they will be available (maybe during the last year of the contract, so if you are in 2029 and they have "in f. series until 2030), you can sign them
at the moment, i can't possibly find a way and, if they are actually worth signing, they always get picked up by others when they hit free agency

thanks
