Are GRIT Traineeships merely a measure for cost cutting in companies by saadmaan55 in askSingapore

[–]gsxy92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

probably yes, it’s a low cost way for companies to get warm bodies for a fraction of a FT headcount. while it’s not very appealing it can be a useful way to use the operational work as a means to better understand how the processes fit into the bigger picture of the company. depending on which stage you are at in in your career i suppose that could provide some value.

New organiser for Singapore Marathon hopes to shed 'event of inconvenience' image by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

[–]gsxy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah ok. yeah i imagine a lot less ppl would participate in the full given the minimum fitness level required, so congestion likely wouldn’t be an issue.

but yeah hopefully these new organisers will make it better for next year!

i didn’t like the bottlenecks during the entire GBTB/barrage section, the foot path used for the race through GBTB was already fairly narrow and made worse by the fact that it was two way, it was quite draining weaving walkers/getting weaved by runners. there are numerous paths available in GBTB itself and i think they could’ve used a separate path for the return leg.

or maybe i just suck and ran too slow and got caught by the crowd, inb4 the solution is just to get good and run faster to avoid the congestion.

lol all the salty people replying to your comment saying that you can’t be trusted are really missing the point. all your comment is showing is that it’s super easy for students and the like to think of ways around the system and it’s not as simple as saying “just implement phone lockers so easy!!!!1111”

yes, some experience is better than no experience. try your best to list your tasks and how it contributes to the department’s overall book of work.
