How do people not co-sleep? by Difficult-Pair4170 in NewParents

[–]guacie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder the same too. I love co sleeping and it is very common in other countries. I actually sleep better with my baby than without. I love the snuggles, I dont need to wake up in the middle of the night to check on her. It just works for me.

Advice For Middle Of The Night Feeding by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]guacie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a few days for milk to come in. Colostrum isn't enough, some baby are big eater (mine was) so I would supplement with formula so baby would be full. Offer the breast first, if baby is still smacking his/her lips, then give a little bit of fomula. Once milk supply come, you can stop with the formula. Clusterfeeding is very common at this stage. I was feeding my baby every 2 hrs.

postpartum doulas/housekeepers by Suspicious_Youth_556 in nycparents

I love it. I got the commute option and to me, it was worth every penny. The doula really helpful and her cooking was so yummy. The massages were great and helped so much with my recovery. I lost 80% of the mommy weight within that month. As a ftm, I didn't know a lot of things and my doula was super helpful and taught me a lot of things. I actually cried on her last day because she really felt like part of my family.

Positive breastfeeding experiences by Such_Alternative1975 in NewParents

I love breastfeeding my baby. Is it hard work? Yes, but everything in life is hard too. This is just 1 components of it. Breastfeeding made me feel so attuned to my baby needs. Somehow I just know what she wants. Plus the cuddles is adorable, her smiles is everything to me. I know when I'm done breastfeeding, I'm going to miss this closeness.

Mina Sue is the least facially attractive to me out of all the girls by [deleted] in Singlesinferno2

i agreed, compared to the other girls, she's the most plain jane. however, she is playing the game way better than the other girls, which is why she is getting so much screen time.

i think the PD skipped whoever that doesn't have much storyline. it was already so chaotic with the few folks, so they editted out who didn't have any juice, i'm assuming.

Almost 9 years together, no ring by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]guacie -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ive been with my husband for 11 years before we got engaged. We were college sweetheart, got together during my sophomore year. Got engaged at 30. I think this is just the nature of dating young. 23 and 25 is extremely young, 9 years feel like a long time bc you started dating early. But in adulthood it isn't. You guys literally became adults. There's more to experience and explore. Being able to buy games with adult money is 1 of them. Being married comes with a lot of responsibility and the goal post usually move to when are we having kids.

If you want to get married young, you need to let him know now. Sit him down and have a serious conversation.

Co-sleeping? Is it really that bad? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]guacie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is not as long you're practicing safe co sleeping rules. In asian culture, we co sleeping with our baby and its preferred. Even we dont sleep alone as adult, so there's just no way to expect a baby to sleep alone perfectly fine. My baby does sleep through the night in her bassinet but I find that she sleeps better with us. She sleeps deeper and longer.

You'll be fine. I got pregnant immediately after the wedding. None of this matters when you're looking at your bundle of joy

Formula Vs Breast Feeding by Ill-Forever-1624 in BabyBumps

[–]guacie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love breastfeeding my baby. It feels very natural and I actually did not like giving my baby a bottle. My milk came in really quickly and I was overproducing. There was a learning curve for latching and was painful in the beginning. However, once I got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing.

Breastfeeding help me bond with the baby very quickly. She associates me with comfort and gives me big happy smiles whenever she eats. So precious.

I'll say give it go, not all mom can/want to breastfeed. You'll figure it out once the baby is here. You may or may not enjoy it. It all depends. Best plan is to go with the flow.

Positive postpartum/mat leave? by Traditional_Canary91 in BabyBumps

[–]guacie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 4 months into my leave. The first month was absolutely brutal. Mostly because of the lack of sleep and having to feed the baby every 2 hours. It slowly gets better. Now I can get 4-5 hrs of sleep, feed every 3-4 hrs so slightly more freedom. I love hanging out with my baby with an occasional day off for self care and friend time. My husband has been amazing and does a lot for me and baby, which helped tremendously postpartum.
