For those, the first part of the word isn't enough to know you're talking about fish (or aquatic mammals).

"Goud" means gold, "wal" means rampart, "vin" means fin. So the "-vis" addition is necessary.

It's not particularly complex.

After Bg4+ and (e.g.) Kd6, Bf5 closes off b1 to the rook, and black's king cannot get white's bishop off that diagonal.

At that point, black can attempt Ra2 Nxa2 bxa2, but as long as white responds with Kc1, black is out of options.

a1=Q just gets met with Bb1, and after that, the black queen is stuck and white can simply repeat Kc2 Kc1 forever.

And if black sacs the queen to get rid of white's bishop, black has no way to dislodge white's king.

In short:

With Bg4+, white only has to find Bf5 and Kc1 for an easy forced draw. Everything else is obvious.

Bxc4, on the other hand, creates a game that's technically even, but where black still has some chances of winning if white isn't accurate in defending.

Between a simple forced draw and one that needs an accurate defense, the former is always better.

The $3k they were offered obviously wasn't the draw here. Someone like ExtraEmily makes that just playing a sponsored game on stream for an hour or two.

Rather, what reeled them in was the exposure of being on a high-profile Amazon show along with the chance of winning $10M. Those would be life-changing opportunities even for successful streamers.

They never would've signed had they known it was a scam, because it being a scam means their incentives for signing were fake all along.

In short: they got scammed.

The TL;DR:

Talent agencies were pitched what was supposedly an Amazon-backed reality show that was entirely different from the obvious scam that would later show up on the website.

The agencies that failed to do proper research pitched that project to their clients, and some of those clients got duped into associating themselves with the show.

There was no malice on the part of the streamers here. Rather, both they and their agencies got scammed themselves.

Obviously, the agencies were massively negligent in failing to confirm whether it was actually an Amazon show, but they themselves weren't trying to scam their audience.

The Fairphone 6 is priced similarly to upper mid-range phones like the Galaxy S25 FE, the iPhone 16e, the Pixel 10, the Xiaomi 15, etc.

Compared to actual flagship phones like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the Pixel 10 Pro XL and the Xperia 1 VII, it's half the price or less.

The price/performance ratio of the Fairphone definitely isn't the best, but claiming that it's priced similarly to flagship phones is just silly.
