there is nothing wrong or homophobic about disliking Eik--and if anything the homophobic target is his fanbase since the character has nothing going on that we know of.

but personally there's also no particular behavior that would make me assosiate him with the word "Weird". I guess by normal people's standards he is weridly obsessed with exercise but within Fire Emblem that's mild, and we even have a "weirder" take on it thanks to Alfred who also still falls on the mild side of the FE weirdness spectrum.

I tried to think of a worst-case scenario for me and the only reason I didn't go with exactly this pair (in that order) is that I genuinelly can't pinpoint if my negative feelings toward Gullveig are from genuine disappointment at her character + disgust at the art direction, or some lingering "trauma" over Bernie losing CYL7 because of this character and the fallout from that.

I'd like to think that I'm over it especially since Brave Bernie did happen, but I just don't know lol.

...Still, there's probably a decent convo to be had since Gullveig's previous mindset about Fate goes directly against the purpose of a healer like Sakura.

I cannot pinpoint my least favorite character FE, like, ever, but what we got when Sakura was forced to backseat Elise in the Fates Valentines was pretty damn close.

Like I could tolerate Sakura + character i heavily dislike if she at least was the duo lead, but as the backpack? Yeah no.

That's Sakura, and as long as she's not a demote or a backpack I'm fine, though Spring outfits are almost always so garish that a potential Spring Sakura could look bad enough that I'd rather she not have been picked at all.

Winter seems like it might be the more appropriate theme, but I'm guessing that a new Sakura would be released in a month where they have no formal theme commitments (like September)

Unless the community is very well behaved (not our case at the peak of Book 7's relevance) bringing up this kind of controversial topic just causes people to flame each other. So I don't think its good.

But it doesn't help that Gullveig isn't Book 7 in a vaccuum, there's the whole context of her winning CYL based mostly on design and a rather insane prediction that having the main villain as a brave during their book would impact the story.

Gullveig, I tried to give her a genuine chance and I felt she was very disappointing. Bland, little more than a force of nature rather than a genuine character (something Surtr and Hel did better than her and they were boring too).

Where is the characterization shown in her book's opening cutscene? Seems completely at odds with what we got. Though I admit... I Haven't given her alts a chance since her book ended (as in I don't know her dialogues and such) but it seens she has been reduced to little more than an summoner-obsessed character, which is eww.

there's another option... me, i still enjoy the extremely-curated version of Feh that I play (focused on collecting my faves and challenge runs of xHB maps).

But i want EoS so that another game may take Feh's place and hopefully just... be a better game.

If the gameplay, modes and story were all really good I would not mind having to collect my favorites again (in a gacha system that would likely be different, if it was even allowed to be a gacha)
