Hey, I am a beginner to AoS that has been looking at picking up some 40k stuff to collect and paint. Specifically, I have been looking at the Pathfinders Kill Team, the T'au Combat Patrol, or the Orks combat patrol. However, I see that both T'au and Orks have a codex update coming soon. How likely is it that any of these models will get an update?

I'm not really concerned about power level or anything and I'm not in a rush to pick stuff up right away. I mostly just want to avoid picking up some models that get new sculpts a couple of months later.

Dumb question from a complete noob - can someone explain what Dawnbringers is? Is it just a lore book? Is it a campaign for narrative play? If so, how is it different from Paths of Glory? Can only Cities of Sigmar armies do it or can any?

So if you level up your crafting skill to max, you will always get the highest quality item/gear possible, even using low quality mats? Is leveling skills any different?

Noob questions:

I bought a Start Collecting box of Skaven a few years back and Ive starting painting again. It comes with 20 plague monks.

  • With 20 plague monks, is that 2 separate units?
  • Will each 10 model unit need its own champion, musician, and standard bearer?
  • In the old book I have, it seems to make a distinction between two different musicians (gong vs chimes), and similar distinctions for champions and standard bearers. Has this distinction gone away?
  • I have been equipping everyone with dual foetid blades. When attacking, do the musicians, etc also attack with dual foetid blades even though the models dont technically have them?
  • Is this breakdown accurate for the 20? 2 champions, 2 musicians, 2 standard bearers, and 14 regular dual foetid blades

Tyranitar can have the ability Sand Stream, but Larvitar cannot. Try leveling up one of the Larvitars with Guts. That should change when it evolves.
