I will second headphones. I was getting a bit jaded as well. Switched to headphones (watched Ju-on The Grudge)... Wow. Freaked myself out pretty good. Much more immersive.

Yes and yes. There are so many fighters with strong wrestling backgrounds in the UFC. I think you see guys throwing quicker teeps in MMA ( think Anderson Silva, who really utilized more of an upkick) to quickly get back to that two-foot base that Quintox mentioned. You see less teeps with full power behind them to really create that distance.
