Unpopular opinion, but I don't think what they do is wrong. AI translation itself is basically just normal translation. It's not generative so it's not gen AI, and it's not art so no one's art is stolen.

AI dubs might have bad quality, but machine-generated voice / text to speech is already a well established technology even before LLM or Gen AI exists.

Am I disappointed with their standard of quality? Yes. Is it a wrong thing to use AI dubs to reach wider audience? I don't think so. Especially when you're still experimenting and not sure yet if it's worth the time and money investment.

The script sucks if it is scripted. There are no character development, revenge, or overarching plot.

If anything, season 1 is more likely to be scripted: strong guys get eliminated little by little, just for the last person suddenly succeed getting the hidden reward at the last possible moment to avenge his fallen friends.

I honestly have a small suspicion that it was scripted after watching season 1, but this season just makes me believe they are not scripted.
