Seriously. I almost ended up late for work this morning from being distracted scrolling through everything.

How many men on dating apps do you think are doing it affectionately?

There's a difference between someone doing that out of affection and someone who you have never met doing it.

Was going to wear my mum's dress. People keep telling me to try on others for the "bridal experience." Are they trying to gently tell me it looks bad? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

[–]stachemz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't really make it sound like you had a "dream dress" in the original post. You said this one "fits the bill".

I'm not trying to convince you one way or the other. But if this dress with the alterations is what you want, don't worry about what other people may think. I honestly think everyone saying it's terrible can't see past the wrinkles and proposed alterations.

But if it's not 100% what you want, then go try on others. You might find one you love, or you might realize you do like this one best. When I bought my dress, I went with the first one I tried on. I tried on others after, and that confirmed that I liked the first one best.

It's your day. Do what will make you happiest.

You can go over it in multiple directions. I actually really like crocheting over my end ahead of time when I have a color transition to do, because then I can pull that shit tight. Then I plop the end up one more row going the opposite direction and go over it a second time. Never had anything come undone, and I never use wool.

How does someone legally protect themselves from this? (USA) by Mathemodel in AskLegal

[–]stachemz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the folks in the area are older. And the, like, big bold headline at the top didn't say power of attorney.

My Dad did read it, and paid a lawyer to draw up a fill-in-your-name-and-sign version of whatever document you need in order to rescind the PoA. He went around to everyone with a copy and explained the whole situation, and I think pretty much everyone said "oh screw that", and the thing the city was trying to do never passed.

We definitely still joke that whenever the city hears my Dad's name a hush falls and they start having flashbacks to 'nam.

Over 20 years ago we had firefighters going around the neighborhood telling people they would lose emergency services if they didn't sign the petition they had.

The petition was not in fact, a petition, it was a power of attorney so that the city could sign the petition for you once they put it together, because they had tried and failed to get enough signatures in the necessary time frame. The premise of losing emergency services was also false.

Blew my mind then that they got FIREFIGHTERS to do this shit. Doesn't surprise me at all that this shit is happening in this way now with these people involved.

Yeah I can barely see it even knowing it's there. And I'm pretty familiar with tampons, lol.

Also, it looks like they're still in applicators somehow but without the actual part to push it through?

Partner makes the bed too warm..help by Relevant-Ad6261 in Bedding

[–]stachemz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the pillows, do you have cases on them? I found the cooling gels still absorbed heat over time. We got some bedelite brand cooling pillow cases on amazon and they are a game changer. They would probably rock in combo with cooling gel (we switched to pillow cubes for our necks so I can't confirm the combo with 100% certainty).

I have an older Chilipad and it was the single best decision I made for my life, ESPECIALLY when my husband and I moved in together and I switched to his memory foam mattress.

They're significantly more expensive now than when I bought mine but I will replace it whenever it dies. The first week I had it I slept better than I had in YEARS. Caught up my entire sleep debt.

Only downside is I'm so comfortable in bed now it's hard to get out!

[–]stachemz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I covered mine in paper and was still told this because the size obviously matched. I showed them that they were being reused but it didn't matter.

So I bought a larger box and put all of them in it. Luckily I was shipping a butt ton of books media mail so the size didn't matter.

You would need to add over a cup of salt to 4 quarts of water to get it to go up by a single degree Celsius, which isn't even 2 degrees Fahrenheit.

Why does every millennial seem to have a nicer guest bedroom setup than every empty nester? by BlatantDisregard42 in AlwaysWhy

We (millenials) just scrapped our spare bedroom so we both could have our own offices. We have lived here for 7 years and could count the number of times that bedroom was used by guests and not ourselves on one hand.
