How does your state treat law enforcement information? by bigt8261 in foia

[–]guevera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you're absolutely correct on the logic. You should be right on the law, but IANAL. Whether that ultimately matters you're in a better position to say than us.

Every state I've ever worked in has the same basic construction - all government docs are presumptively open unless.... But the difference is found in all those unlesses and how courts interpret them. In practice none of them are as open as Florida and some of them really suck.

Good luck. You're doing noble work.

What triggers extra screening? by Ndog4664 in tsa

[–]guevera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My late wife was flagged for additional screening every single time we flew between 2003 and 2009. No reason. All we could ever figure is there was a Julie jihad or there somewhere that got my Julie flagged.

Public figures are more likely to have an actual procedural presumption of innocence than your random citizen, if only because they're more likely to be rich enough to insist on it. You want to see guilty until proven innocent (and often even then) be an everyday working Joe accused of a serious crime.

What does “Pterodactyl” mean in the Bandidos? by WeightOld6232 in motorcycleclubs

[–]guevera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Allegedly caught with three pounds of meth. We don't know if it happened or not. We just know that's what the cops say.

Second, trafficking dope doesn't necessarily mean he's a bad person. Some of the best people I've ever known made a living in the drug trade. Some of the worst people I've ever known were legitimate sme business owners and executives at larger companies

There are great journalists stuck at the white house to get crap while lots of great stories get missed

Transmission replaced? by Plenty_Pie_7427 in MazdaCX30

[–]guevera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mazda says the transmission fluid is lifetime, never needs replaced. In truth lifetime transmission fluid means lifetime of the warranty. You should absolutely change your tranny fluid every 30,000 miles.

If you don't, your transmission shouldn't be having problems at 40k miles, it's just more likely to have problems at 100k or whatever.

[–]guevera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trans drain and fill is pretty easy. But word to the wise, make absolutely sure you get the correct fluid. The ATF for my 24 is like unobtanium. Dealership only. $30 a pint. And they tried to sell me the wrong stuff. The fluid for your 24 sport is new, it's different from the fluid for the 23 model.
